Ok I have mixed reviews. I’ve been here twice. First time was really good and was excited about having this in the neighborhood. Took the family on Friday night and was very disappointed. The guac was in a tiny serving bowl and was $9. The queso was lukewarm and also tasted terrible- nobody in our family at it. It was $10 for a small bowl. So we spent $20 on apps that were not awesome. The meals were Ok. The reason it still got 3 stars: the atmosphere was fun and the margarita was very good and very generous size at a great price. I might try one more time but will avoid the apps as they were a huge disappointment. The meal for 4 of us was $100 which feels extremely expensive for a Mexican restaurant in KC as we have some great Mexican food here for much less.

New place in the neighborhood we checked out a few days ago for dinner. I cannot say enough good things about Muy Caliente. The food was delicious, the service was prompt, attentive and friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. I will definitely be back. I want to try other dinner items, and try their lunch menu. The margaritas were good, not too sweet and not too heavy on the booze.
They’re still doing their soft opening, so their website and online reservations aren’t available yet, but I’m sure they’ll get that sorted out.

My beans were cold. My tacos were missing the usual toppings. The chips were hard. Salsa was so so. I ordered a margarita and they served it to me in a budlight plastic cup. This place looks fancy . They could do way better in many areas. It took almost 30=40min to get our food. We came at 5pm. It was not crowded. It was 6pm before we got our food. I didnt send my plate back to the kitchen. We had someplace we needed to go. I had heard great things about this place. I was very disappointed.

I am so glad that Muy Caliente moved into the neighborhood! The food is amazing, made from scratch, flavorful, and comforting. We like to sit at the bar to chat with the owner or staff—so friendly. W my husband and I are trying a different thing from the menu each time we come—everything has been great and they keep adding more! Love this place!

My Fiancé went for dinner 2/12/2026. Our first time. Server was Ruth. Service friendly, and efficient. Food presentation was excellent. My fiance had the giant burger, came on a giant platter took up most of the table. Came with fires ,peppers, and three different sauces, ( ranch, hot salsa, guacamole sauce) all were good. I had the trio fajita burrito it was large and filled with steak, chicken, shrimp, refried beans, peppers, onions covered with cheese and red salsa. Food was good. I was disappointed the seasoning was a little bland for me but it was definitely stuffed full if food. The Mango margarita was brain freezing and tasty. ($13.00).We will try it again. Nice atmosphere .

One of my new favorite places to eat in KC. The choriqueso is extraordinary and pairs nicely with the street tacos for a yummy meal with leftovers. I wish the salsa were chunky but it’s still deliciously saucy. Highly recommend!

Dined here this evening for the first time with my fiancé. Great experience overall.
Great service, food was fresh and very tasty. We even had a coupon for free churros from the mail and used it with no problem! I had steak fajitas and she had tacos herself. We also got cheese dip, was good!
This is I’ll be a go to spot for sure.

First visit was good. It was Tuesday, but we were seated and waited on immediately. Food came out fast and hot. Street tacos and my husband’s burrito were great but the salsa needs help. My husband said it tasted too much like catsup. We asked for a hotter version but that one didn’t have a good flavor even though the added heat helped. Service was excellent. Also the restaurant still looks too much like an Irish bar and not a Mexican restaurant. I give the place a solid B but with minor tweaks it’ll become an A.

I’ve been here twice. Both times with a group. Great food, attentive service, and accuracy of who got what. Drinks were refilled on time, before they ran out. Smiles, kindness, and good music all around. Made for a good time eating and celebrating.
I had the Steak Fajita, it was so much for me that I had another meal at home, both times. I am definitely bringing my wife here.
Parking is covered or outside, your choice, as there is a two-level parking garage shared with an office building, just to the west. Safe parking as it is well lit. ADA entrance from the patio adds to the inclusiveness of this restaurant.
