This is a great little sushi restaurant tucked away in Palm Desert. There’s plenty of parking and the service was excellent. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, and the hostess seems to know everybody there, full of locals. The selection of food was fantastic and we really enjoyed being there. We would highly recommend going there if you’re in the mood for sushi.

Amazing sushi spot! Family owned and operated. Been going here for over 15 years. Menu has shifted a bit over the years, but always delicious. Great quality, and wonderful value. Clean, minimalist decor and atmosphere that elevates the experience. Lovely wrap around sushi bar where you can watch the sushi chefs do their work. Great servers, and service. Kitchen menu is tasty and well portioned.

Highly recommend the salmon nigiri, yellowtail nigiri, musashi roll, desert roll, and caterpillar. Smelt egg roll is great as well. Love the chicken teriyaki (miss the beef teriyaki)!

Plenty of parking in the free lot. Restaurant can be busy but usually work through the line pretty quickly.

Owner is usually there, and always make a point to stop, check in, and ensure you have an amazing experience. She makes you part of her family!

I love sitting at the bar and watching the food preparation, the service is great and the fish is always fresh. I highly suggest eating here if you’re a sushi fan. The Nigiri is my favorite, the yellowtail is fantastic, and I really enjoy the eel roll as well. You can’t go wrong here!

So being Hapa, I feel like I have an unjustified authority about reviewing Japanese food. But full disclosure, I’m the only Asian I the world allergic to any type of tuna so take it with a grain of salt. I’m sure the sashimi is delicious!

But I’m kinda surprised that this place has been here for decades and I’ve finally tried it out. It’s such a great restaurant at pre-inflation pricing. There were no bad dishes here but the highlights were the seaweed salad and soft shell crab. Just an all around excellent Japanese cuisine.

Also it is white table cloth so show some respect and dress up a bit. It’s pretty pathetic seeing dudes in gym shorts and backwards hats which in Japanese we call that; yabanjing.

This is the real deal – the only top notch sushi in the Palm Springs area. It’s popular with locals and the way I noticed it was driving by at 5:00 there was a line of older people waiting to get in right when they opened the doors. Good sign.

Service was a bit dictatorial probably because it was so busy and they had to keep things moving but the host (maybe wife and owner) was nice even though she was firm. She just had a ton of patrons to manage. I saw 5-10 parties get turned away since no resy for the short time I waited for my spot to clear.

Sushi bar – it took a while to eat since they were so busy. Chefs had their hands full. Also full menu is not available at the sushi bar. On to the sushi – excellent fish. Right up there with best I’ve had at some of the high end sushi restaurants on either coast- all in an unassuming old school atmosphere. Nothing fancy but yellowtail, tuna, aji, ikura, uni, mackerel, sweet shrimp were all wonderful. The uni was very special. I also loved my negihama roll. Oh expect to pay handsomely for what you get.

Take out pork tonkatsu was good also. Had a delicious hot mustard along with the sweet sauce.

Don’t go here if you’re looking for a Philly cheese roll. There’s another restaurant somewhere else for that kind of sushi. Go here for great nigiri and the old standbys.

You definitely don’t get an equal bang for your buck. If you order sushi service is fairly quick but anything other, IE tempura, you will have a decently long wait. I posted an updated menu, since most have outdated prices.
