Forget your worries at Murray’s! Had a great time with friends for dinner and drinks. Everyone enjoyed their food, from fish and chips, chicken pot pie to the Reuben sandwiches. We were licking our fingers. Def one the best pot pies in Austin. Can’t touch it. The atmosphere is sophisticated and cozy and the service was excellent. Never had a need. Be sure to visit this place for any occasion.

A group of us came in on Sunday night to watch the game and eat.

It was cold outside so I decided to order the chicken pot pie. It was SO good! I’m so glad I ordered it. It had a pastry top and the fillings were so good!

I also had a couple of Guinness beers. They have a printer that makes cool designs on top of the beer.

Great service, amazing food, and awesome atmosphere!

Garlic bread, crab cakes (some of the best I’ve had), and pigs in a blanket were exceptional starters. The chicken pot pie was perfect for a fall night, although I thought it was slightly too salty. The chopped Asian salad was good but had way too much dressing, so I’d advise asking for it on the side. Really good drinks and atmosphere.

The service and food was great. Very attentive and friendly staff. I had the chicken pot pie. It’s by far the best I’ve had in town. The top is nice and flaky. Nice size chunks of chicken. Just the right amount of veggies. I also enjoyed the mini expresso tower.

We had a great meal, highly recommend the beef tartar and the martinis! Sage was a fantastic server, sit in her section if you can!

Murray’s Tavern is a local East Austin favorite, and I’ve barely scratched the surface of the menu. That said, I’m confident the steak tartare is already my favorite in the city. It’s always fresh and well seasoned and the fancy crackers are basically Ritz crackers on steroids with extra crunch and butteriness.

But the real magic is the bar. Noble and Jeremy (the Aussie) tend bar on Sundays, and on a cold, icy Austin Sunday in January they showed up big. Irish coffees and Guinness were poured perfectly complete with some great banter. The nutmeg on my Irish coffee came with a spontaneous lesson on the origins of nutmeg, the spice trade, and a few worldly stories from Australia for good measure. Murray’s is a proper neighborhood pub with vibes that are hard to come by in Austin these days.

The drinks… oh the drinks..are fantastic made by mixologists Jeremy and Noble. You’ll always get friendly service from Dan, Matthew, Ashley, and Sage. Please check it out and be part of the family.

My family and I visited for the first time during their Wednesday “steak and martini” night. We didn’t do too much research on the place before hand and came in on a whim thinking a cold Wednesday night would be pretty laid back. Little did we know that it was one of their most popular nights to visit due to the awesome steak special (which I would highly recommend!). We showed up around 8pm and the wait staff let us know it would be closer to 9 before a table would open up. We decided to wait and hang out for a bit in their small sitting area. The staff was actually able to get us seated about 15 minutes later and honestly, the whole experience was so pleasant! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server, Ashley, was attentive even with all of the other tables she was managing. The food was delicious and don’t take long to come out. My brother ordered the prime rib, and he devoured that sucker so fast! My son had the French dip sandwich and I tried the goulash only because you really don’t see that on many menus and it is the best cozy comfort food. It was perfect for a chilly night!

Takeaways – Make a reservation on Wednesday nights, come hungrier because their portions are generous, and be prepared to talk really loud because it’s quite noisy.

If you ever find yourself lucky enough to be at the bar with Noble and Jeremey behind it, you’re in the best hands possible. Not only do they make incredible drinks, but they have a way of making everyone feel welcome and taken care of the moment you sit down.

Noble and Jeremey bring the perfect mix of charisma, personality, and genuine hospitality. They somehow always know how to lift your mood, whether it’s with a great conversation, a perfectly made drink, or just their positive energy. They truly take care of their guests and make the whole experience feel personal.

On top of all that, they’re both effortlessly charming and easy on the eyes, which definitely doesn’t hurt. If they’re working, you know it’s going to be a good night.

I was sad when Gormands closed but it’s really cool what they’ve done with the place. It’s more upscale than it used to be but still retains the local pub vibe. Food is better, drinks are better. We got the prime rib and it was flat out delicious.

The service is also top notch. Somehow they maintained that from Gormands. They give you that family local pub vibe. Hopefully you get Jeremy the Australian dude I think he’s the best bartender I’ve ever had haha.

Definitely go if you’ve got the cash. Also they do a couple specials a week so you could limit it to those specific days if you don’t got the cash. Good vibe in there.
