Stopped by while traveling through for work – hands down the best steak I’ve ever had!
Cooked perfectly, great flavor, big portion. The sides were also delicious and large size – had onion rings as an appetizer as well, very good and crispy with yummy sauce.
We came here to try the cheesecake and it did not disappoint! Very rich but still fluffy, great flavor and good variety of topping choices!
The staff were so nice we felt so welcome which is always appreciated when far from home.

We’ve eaten here several times now and have always been very pleased with our meals and service. Last night we went for the Valentine’s dinner special and it was exceptional. Our steaks and baked potatoes were cooked perfectly and the cheesecake (our first time trying) was fabulous. Our waitress, Joselyn, was very sweet and did a great job waiting on us. I believe on other occasions we’ve had Austin as our server and he has always been friendly and attentive as well. We highly recommend this establishment.

We wanted to try something new that was local so, we decided to try Murray’s, the food was excellent and that cheesecake, I cant say enough about that. Austin the manager was very very friendly and very on his job, we wanted for nothing. Very friendly atmosphere and very well kept business. I loved the lighting in the place, it set off a nice calm mood. Not overly priced either, remember, your eating steak and in today’s world steak is’nt cheap. Definitely give a try, you won’t be disappointed. Im definitely going to be a repeat customer. Good job guys I was impressed especially being local.

A hidden gem in Vandalia!
This restaurant rivals restaurants in much bigger cities. From the expansive menu, delicious food & delightful service. Knowing this place has only been open 2 months makes the experience we had here even more impressive.
As frequent travelers throughout the country, this restaurant, especially in a small town, Murray’s is easily in the top 10% of the 1,000s of restaurants we have visited. From the small town charm, to the attention to detail, to the cleanliness. What a great place! Bravo!

Cool place with good food. I was pleasantly surprised. Just a small town bar/restaurant, but aren’t those always the best? Oh yeah, and their steak fries, are real steak fries. I was super impressed with Vandalia overall. Kudos to the folks that put in the work to totally transform Vandalia.

When traveling, I avoid chains. I strive to go where the locals frequent. This is the place to be in Vandalia. Murray’s is the perfect eclectic fusion of classy & hometown feel. Obviously welcoming all ages.
The restaurant is just a short distance from the main highway
I had the flaming ring burger with fries which was scrumptious & filling!

My wife and I were driving through town and stopped here. Her shrimp dinner was fine but my ribeye steak that was supposed to be medium-well(some pink) was so tough I could hardly cut it, let alone eat it, so I didn’t.
The server was very good, except for implying that it was my fault for ordering
it medium-well. Not sure the cook knows what he/she is doing. Minus $34 ☹️
