We have been to Murphys on several occasions, it is our go to on nights when nothing is planned for dinner and neither of us want to cook.
We usually eat in the dining room, but this night we when in side room Speakeasy.
It was crowded and loud. Our service was rough. The servers were the bar tenders, and they would come out , take an order and go back , mix the drinks then deliver them. We later found out that the server that was supposed to be there, had called in sick.
Our server took our drink orders and delivered them in a reasonable time. He then took our food order. Sometime around this time, t he server misplaced something and at that point he was solely focused on what was misplaced. You would think this would automatically lead to a bad service score, however, the other staff members stepped in and covered fairly well.
The food was tast enough. We had the chicken ranch sliders, ham and cheese sliders as well as the parmesian tater tots. All solid bar food.
The manager/owner was making rounds and checking on people. We shared with him the shortcomings of the service and applauded the servers that stepped up. He tossed in an order of their butter cake as an apology, which was well accepted.
Bottom line, what could have been a rotten service night. Was an ok service night. Management acknowledged their shortcomings and offered a token to make amends
