What an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT!!! This place is like walking into a friend’s very nice home and being treated to a lovely evening (or day or afternoon) of simplistic elegance and the best creamy ice creams. The brand they sell is my personal favorite but it seemed like the flavor options were more creative than usual. The games and new kids cooks were so fun and music the perfect touch for a fun time. Workers did an outstanding job and went above and beyond with kindness. I had the affogato that came out great presentation. The only thing that could maybe make this place better is homemade waffle cones but it’s not even needed already so great. I do wonder if there is a relation to the Murphy’s ice cream in Dublin and would love to know!

Great ice cream. The flavor selection is good. A few unnatural colors, but mostly looks like the real deal. A nice place to end the evening. The decorations are nostalgia infused more deeply than TGI Fridays is. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Pomegranate swirl is an unusual flavor that worked pretty well. Exhausted parent is fun, but the bourbon was really light to keep from being an alcoholic treat.

Murphy’s has great ice cream, but what really stands out for us is their allergy policy. Our son has a severe dairy allergy, and they offer several pre-scooped cups to avoid any chance of cross-contamination. It’s simple, clear, and gives us real peace of mind. I recently photographed an engagement session in South Bend, and my couple chose Murphy’s Ice Cream Shoppe for a sweet treat and some fun photos to finish the session. We met the owner and got her permission to take some photos and she was incredibly kind and welcoming. The owners care about cultivating an environment where clients feel like they can be present and off their phones, which I thought was so amazing in our fast-paced world. There are plenty of board games and table games to choose from as well, a lovely touch. The ice cream and root beer float we tried were both delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. What a great spot right near Notre Dame with a nostalgic and friendly feel. Highly recommend!

Clean, pleasant and welcoming. The service has always been top notch and the accomodations themes to interact you as you eat your ice cream. My only negative is that some of the flavors seem to be trying a bit too hard if you know what I mean, they are overly complicated. There are many other favorites, simple single flavors and some interesting new things to try. A little oasis in the Eddy Street Commons aside from the burger/beer/ noodles around it.

This used to be the ideal spot for us to walk after our toddler’s afternoon nap on a warm day for good, cold ice cream. However, that was when Murphy’s opened at 3:00pm. Today, we discovered that they now do not open until 5:00pm. We were hoping this could be our go to spot for post-nap ice cream again this summer, but because of the change of hours, this will not be possible. Also, if you want ice cream and happen upon Murphy’s and it’s closed, don’t go to Five Guys because their ice cream machine always seems to be “broken.”
