Became a non-smoking establishment 3/1/25, as a smoker myself I’m salty but it feels and smells a lot better in there so not a negative. Food tastes pretty good just takes way too long to come out.. Bartenders are very nice and the pool tables are in good shape. Bathrooms are always clean, at least the women’s, cant speak for the men’s room.

Murphy’s beef n ale is like cheers. Its a place to go where everyone knows your name. If you want a place to go with good friends that are considered family then this is your spot. From pool tables, to darts, and even shuffle board. They have djs playing every weekend. If you follow them on Facebook you will see the many different events that they have every year. The staff is friendly and treat everyone with the same respect. So stop on in and have a drink, take ur coat off and stay awhile, because once you get comfortable, your not going to want to leave.

If you’re black, don’t go here if you have a Caucasian friend, that’s trying to bring you here They’re setting you up for failure. I was here last night and it was the worst experience .I’ve been going to Murphy’s on and off for years cause the food is good but after last night, I will no longer be returning and this is why., as I proceed into the bar with a friend, who is Caucasian, I instantly saw a customer or I’m gonna assume a regular dart out the door and come right back in with the Jamaican wig on and begin to use a Jamaican accent now me being who I am, I ignored the BS because I was born and raised in this racist town but it got to the point where now I can hear him talking to all his other buddies about me and my friend, the guy go as far as to even call the guy I’m with a sugar daddy. He even proceeds to call me a sugar baby after telling him about his self and let him know I don’t need anyone to take care of me or provide anything for me because I have a job He still proceeds to be ignorant and He still proceeds to use a Jamaican accent and for me personally I just can’t deal with that type of energy and that type of cruelty. I was able to only stay for one drink, which I downed in less than five minutes. I just wanna make it aware that it is 2025 and even before 2025 going into the spaces still makes me cringe because the way that people act but when they come into our spaces, we welcome you guys with open arms and no problems. Murphy’s y’all need to get it together get your clientele under control because at the end of the day there was no need for his comments and his remarks oh, and let’s keep in mind two days before another guy who is being harassed by another person, sat there and commented with the guy like, sir weren’t you just being racially profile two days ago smh ♀️ just don’t go here if you Black find a bettter spot Edgeley inn welcomes everybody go there it’s a vibe more fun.

The bartender Des was great, the food was absolutely delicious and the prices were great. The only reason I didn’t leave 5 stars was because there is still cigarette smoking allowed, and I was definitely not expecting it. I would still go back, for sure, but it would definitely be better non smoking.

Service and food are terrific. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the smoking. As a reformed smoker, I know there are limited spots left that allow you to enjoy a smoke inside, but if it ever goes non-smoking, I’ll definitely be back!

I hate to say “dive bar” because I feel like some will not understand that I mean this in a genuine way..basically it’s not your “uppity/uptight” bar where you may feel out of place if not dressed up..this is more so your local Irish pub that you feel comfortable stopping at after work, wearing jeans & a sweatshirt & wont feel judged. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is fun & welcoming..they have booths, tables, hi tops & you can sit at the bar if you can find a spot since each time I’ve gone, they seem to stay busy. We have been there on nights with live music, nights where the games play on a bunch of TV’s throughout the bar & nights that were more low key..and each of these times have always been a great night!

After I waded through the clouds of cigarette smoke to approach the bar, the buckets o’ beers were priced $2 higher than advertised.
