In my opinion The beer selection is okay, a bit heavy on IPAs and not much else.
I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and asked for a hot link or sausage link added-on top. They told me they couldn’t do that. I would need to order a plate of sausages if I wanted one on top of my sandwich. I didn’t want a whole plate of sausages; I couldn’t possibly eat that much nor did I want the expense. Seems a bit odd they couldn’t just charge me a few bucks for a piece of sausage on top of my sandwich, but if that’s their policy, now I know. It seems like a missed upsell opportunity though.
The sandwich came out pretty quick. I immediately noticed the bun was cold and so was the pork, not room temperature, but still had a chill to it.
I let the bartender know it was cold. He wasn’t really apologetic or anything, but did ask if I wanted him to take it back to heat up.
Leery of it just being microwaved, I just said no, I’ll eat it cold.
The flavors were good, the pork was tender, and the bun I could tell that if it had been toasted, it would’ve been good too.
The bartender was personable, but the staff didn’t seem well trained in hospitality.
I’m new to Gulfport, so there are many other places to try, but I would probably come back if I were in the area and craving barbecue. I would definitely ask upfront to make sure my sandwich is hot before they serve it.
Overall, I’d say three stars. Seems like they just need a bit of hospitality and guest interaction training and Maybe a better systems to ensure food quality.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a spacious dining area that never feels crowded. The outdoor patio is a great touch, perfect for relaxing with friends or family while enjoying some Southern sunshine.
The food? Absolutely on point. While the traditional BBQ would be a must-try, the smash burger was on point – juicy, flavourful, and cooked just right. Pair it with their creamy potato salad, and you’ve got comfort food done right.
Shoutout to Cade for the exceptional service – friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. It’s clear that the folks here take pride in what they do.
Highly recommend if you’re in the Gulfport area and craving authentic Southern BBQ with great vibes and even better food.
I ordered the burnt ends, baked beans and a serving of mac & cheese.
The burnt ends were perfect. Plenty of fat, not dry at all, and crisped just right. The meat was tender and flavorful. The beans were also good.
The sweet tea was done right.
Overall, I really enjoyed the meal and will definitely come back the next time we visit the coast.
