Murf’s Frozen Custard & Jumbo Burgers is a local, family owned restaurant that is famous for our delicious jumbo burgers and fresh frozen custard- the epitome of Wisconsin cuisine! We are the cheese and custard coursing through the heart of Brookfield! Since 1993, we’ve been dishing up jumbo burgers, grilled chicken clubs, fish sandwiches, patty melts, BLTs, and more loaded up with fresh toppings on a soft bakery bun. Our side dishes, from white cheddar cheese curds and chive fries to onion rings, are crowd favorites! Our frozen custard is made fresh throughout the day. When they say jumbo burger, they aren’t kidding. I got a Murf burger and It’s a meal in itself, the size of a dessert plate! Nothing spectacular but it tasted good. Lots of lettuce and tomatoes. The fries were like McDonald’s when they they are good, skinny with a slightly crispy shell and soft inside. Lots of them as well! Service was very friendly. Bathroom had no soap . Overall a good meal, a bit pricey but it’s nice to see an alternative to the big chains.

When they say jumbo burgers they mean it. I got a Bacon Cheeseburger with Onion rings and a Peanut Butter Deluxe Sundae. The burger was massive and juicy. The onion rings had a great crunch, and the shake was rich. Everything was delicious. The attendants were attentive and professional, and the food weight wasn’t longer than 15 minutes. Highly recommend to everyone!!!

I’ve been coming to Murfs for over ten years and have always considered it a cousin to Kopps with the bigger burgers and good custard. Last night I stopped in and ordered a cheeseburger. I picked up the burger in the paper and the weight was a lot lighter. I opened it up, picture is posted, and the burger was way smaller than the bun, which also fell apart almost instantly after I started eating the burger. Before I started eating I asked the worker if they changed the burger size and they said it has always been this size and nothing has changed. I love supporting my local places; however, something has changed with the size and quality. Hope it was just me and it’s not an ongoing issue…

The burgers are so good. Chive fries used to be better. Last two times we got them the were over done. Can’t be perfect. The rest of the food is great and the service is always very friendly. It can get a little loud sometimes but it’s not their fault people love going there.

Was in the neighborhood and stopped by around lunch time (12:30/1pm), the parking lot was packed so we were a little nervous cause it’s not that big inside but wasn’t too bad as we thought, made our order, there was a little wait time but that’s expected with the size of our family (family of 7 ) kids say that their ranch is the best of the best, chicken tenders were amazing and the cheese curds were great! Jumbo BLT was definitely jumbo! This is the second time here and we will def be back!!

I just googled chicken restaurants in Brookfield and Murf’s came up and thank God!
We stopped on our drive back home to MN and it was an easy quick detour. The burgers are truly jumbo but so delicious. I want to point out how good their pickles are. If Murf’s chose to offer a crispy chicken sandwich with pickles they would be killing it.
After lunch we got a root beer float and a single scoop of vanilla custard in a cone. Their custard is TOP NOTCH! I won’t name names but there is a popular custard establishment in Brookfield I’ve been frequenting since I was a kid and I think Murf’s is better!
Cannot wait to stop again the next time we are passing through.

We literally got here at closing (9 pm on Fridays), but they still took our order. We ordered some shakes that were very good. I will most definitely order food next time. Thank you for serving us!
Update: We decided to come for lunch and I sure do recommend this place. Jumbo burgers are no joke! The only disappointment was with their buns. They were so dry and literally crumbled by touching them. I had a mushroom Swiss, daughter had a plain burger with ketchup and pickles, and sister had cheeseburger with fried onion. We also shared onion rings and cheese fries. The cheese has a kick to it (it’s put in a cup, not directly on fries) but be cognizant of the spice with little kids.

Consistently well made jumbo burgers, served with chive fries dripping with warm cheese sauce and crispy onion rings. Absolutely delicious food every single time.

The first bite of custard thoughts: not creamy, flavor is good – not too sweet and flavor of the day is present, toppings were the right ratio, texture was good – thick. The more I ate it the more I liked it but the creaminess never showed up. I’ve had worse though and generally liked it.
I ordered the Wisconsin Cheesehead burger that had cheesecurds and ranch. The bun was crumbly and dry which did not help the dry patty. I liked that the bun was toasted. The cheese was great, bacon was stringy so I needed multiple bites just to separate the bacon but tasty. Ranch was not very present and could have saved the burger. It was basically missing juiciness or sauciness.
