This is my second time here. Both times I’ve had quality food and drinks. Today the guacamole was great, as was the sangria. The quesadilla was definitely above average although the cheese they use is not my personal favorite. The star is very courteous and service is fast for a joint that handles both to go orders and dining in. The place is comfortable with soundtrack full of classics. Muñecas is a notch above other Mexican favorites in Gainesville and it contributes very nicely to the 4th avenue food park experience.

It’s my go to for Moqueca. Absolutely amazing Brazilian Fish Stew (you can add other proteins too!). I have Alpha Gal Syndrome (mammalian red meat/dairy allergy) and this is one dish I really get to enjoy!

This restaurant might be the thing I miss most about Gainesville. As a junior at UF, I have been going here for nearly three years and have recommended this place to everyone in my sight. I have tried everything on the menu. All of the food is fresh and feels clean/not greasy at all.

I think Munecas sets itself apart with the quality/texture of their meats, the flavor of their sauces (yum yum is my fav), and the good feeling after eating. I have never felt heavy or sluggish after these meals, unlike many other Mexican/Latin restaurants I’ve tried.

My go tos are the chicken burrito or the chicken bowl. Something about the pulled chicken here is unmatched. It’s soft, flavorful, and never dry. The nachos, salty and extremely rich, are incredible for game day and drinks. The moqueqa bowl is so good every once in a while, especially on cold nights. Its coconut curry is so rich and flavorful, and complimented by fresh veggies and herbs. I recommend choosing the local fish, and going up higher than normal on the spice. The fish wok tacos are immaculate, and 3 is definitely filling enough. The quesadillas are a bit heavier, but have a deluxe blend of cheese and veggies, and mix so well with the pulled chicken. The tortillas for the burritos and quesadillas are always grilled a bit, so they have the perfect crunch to softness ratio.

I think it’s absolutely worth the price. While some meals are pricier, the very filling 11 dollar chicken burrito makes this a cost efficient option.

I grew up on the west coast (az/cali), with a ton of Mexican food. This place is top tier, and everyone I know agrees.

Such a cool spot with an amazing outdoor atmosphere. I went with friends and our kids, and it was the perfect place to relax while the kids played. The ambiance makes it easy to enjoy your time without feeling rushed. Definitely a great place to hang out and unwind.

Food is high quality and fresh. Cocktails are beautiful and made with care. Servers were wonderful and this place is exceptionally clean. Cool vibe and the tacos are not your average tacos. The black and blue taco and the boom boom shrimp were delicious!

My husband and I ate here after attending a basketball game. I had the chicken tacos and my husband decided on fish, after the girl taking our order patiently answered questions he had about the menu. We also ordered 2 margaritas at the bar, which we took outside. The food was outstanding and so reasonably priced. The portions were generous, so 2 tacos a piece was plenty, and they were fresh and perfectly seasoned. The fish is local caught and varies, today was Bass. The bartender FOR SURE knows how to mix a drink and doesn’t skimp on the alcohol. We had the option of 4 or 8 Oz for the drinks, and they were also reasonably priced. The atmosphere was friendly and they have an outdoor seating area which was quant and not so noisy that you couldn’t talk. I don’t know if this is a popular place for the area, but it should be! We will definitely return when we’re in the area again!

I was really excited to try the food but was a bit let down. The atmosphere is perfect, inside/ outside seating is wonderful on a good day.
I got tacos (chicken/beef) but was disappointed that they put raisins in their ground beef, my Cuban family did too and I really never loved it, wish that was stated on the menu. The chicken was bland, not much flavor in any of the tacos except the really nice aioli, however, the small sprinkle on top wasn’t nearly enough to cover the whole taco flavor. So, I asked for a little more and was told it would be a $1 more ( for each flavor if aioli). I passed. For $18 I expected bunch much better.

I was a regular at munecas until now. The female owner of this establishment (I say female because her husband Art has been extremely kind) who has been rude on multiple occasions, told me to leave the restaurant and sit outside while its 50 degrees and raining. I had just purchased food like I have regularly and she let us know we have to sit outside if there was “outside food” regardless of me being a patron. My boyfriend had food from a neighboring business at 4th ave. I can understand if I was not a customer and was taking up space without supporting her business but I am and was a regular at that. I’ll be taking my business to the other establishments on 4th ave moving forward since they think it’s okay to kick people out.

Not bad; not great. Had 2 boom-boom shrimp tacos and pork nachos with yum-yum sauce.

I don’t like cold tacos; thankfully, they were much better after a minute in my air fryer.

My advice on the nachos: don’t get any of the “sauces.” Turns the nachos into a sopping wet mess after a couple of minutes.

Delicious tacos, I enjoyed all (3) Classic. Good deal for lunch specials!
I also had an additional top shelf margarita (mega size, but it wasn’t really MEGA for the price of $22.00). Overall, it’s a good location to just unwind & hang out.
