Social Profile:

Mulate’s is known as the original Cajun restaurant, famous for preserving and celebrating the food, music and culture found in the small towns and along the bayous of south Louisiana. But the restaurant that prides itself on being true to its roots would never have opened its doors if owner Kerry Boutté hadn’t ventured out of Cajun Country and into restaurants and dance halls of New Orleans, Houston and even Europe. There is a lot to learn about us, so just stop in and experience the original Cajun restaurant.

Cajun fare and live zydeco music in a rustic, wood-beamed space flanked by a dance floor & full bar.

I absolutely loved the New Orleans vibe here! Live music & dancing really tied the place together, of course. The food was pretty good! I truly recommend oysters & bread pudding with bourbon sauce.

Fantastic dinner at Mulate’s. Went in with a group and got a variety of foods and all was superb. The cornbread and whipped honey butter are an absolute must. The grilled gator bites as well, simply fantastic and so well seasoned and tender! Catfish and shrimp were perfectly fried, and the Caesar salad was delicious. They had live music going when we came in on Friday night. It was during the Final 4 so it was like a 45 min wait for a table but definitely worth it. Would recommend and would return happily!

Came here to eat some authentic Louisiana food and it was beyond delicious! We ordered the gator bites & frog legs for an appetizer and these were the best frog legs I’ve ever had ! The gator bites coke grilled but we did request them to be fried and I’m so glad we did . Then we ordered the pasta , stuffed shrimp and the mulate’s fish plate . All were amazing !! If you go , try the hurricane ! Strong and very good !

It’s a must go eat place. We were super pleased. Gator bites the best grilled and fried. Sorry we were excited to eat them so we didn’t get a picture of the gator bites. Also very clean restrooms.

We came in with a group of 14 and they were able to accommodate us without a problem. Our food and drinks came out quick, and everything tasted good. Honestly, this isn’t the best food for the price you will be paying. I expected better. BUT if you go during live music and if you have a great server like we did, it won’t matter because the experience will be worth it! They even have a dance floor, so we all got to dance to the live band that was performing! It was so fun.

The food was great, the portion for the grilled seafood platter was $30 and there is a picture I uploaded of the amount they brought. Only one small piece of fish, four shrimp and three charcoaled oysters. This is the reason I’m giving ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ because of the portion.

A very nice place with old style food. We enjoyed everything except the Sazerac drink, that might be an acquired taste. It was a little pricey but worth it as a special treat. Our bill came to $160 for 3 people.

Awesome, Amazing, Wonderful, Fun, Perfect. If you’re in New Orleans and you don’t eat here, you missed out. Live music, Frog legs, Alligator bites, sausage and chicken jambalaya, fried chicken sandwich, chicken alfredo, cornbread, crab beinets, key lime pie, and sweet tea, we had it all….and it all was delicious. Do yourself a favor and Go!

Best meal I’ve had in a while. Ordered the grilled alligator bites, stuffed crab beignets and the seafood platter. All were very tasty and don’t get me started on their hot sauce. If I lived in NOLA, I’d be eating good on a daily and probably 20+ lbs heavier. Great atmosphere as well and walking distance from our hotel.
