Went for the lunch buffet after being told it’s $21, but the bill ended up over $28 with 20% gratuity automatically added and tax — and then there was still a tip prompt! For a buffet where you serve yourself?

The food? Lukewarm at best. A decent number of dishes, but naan, fried snacks, and most items were cold. My stomach didn’t feel right afterward, and I definitely won’t be going back — or recommending it to my colleagues.

We asked for à la carte menus, got them, but no one came to take our order for 15 minutes. The water was served from a jar with visible white scaling, and the table setup reminded me of a dated Indian restaurant— stained mats that looked like they’ve been around since the ’90s.

“Fine Indian Cuisine” is a stretch. There were paper napkins instead of cloth napkins and basic cutlery — nothing about the experience felt upscale.

If you’re looking for a real Indian fine dining experience in Dallas, this isn’t it.

We went for Sunday buffet and folund that they were closed during normal operating hours for a private party. No notification on their web site, let alone the front door. The flat-face girl who told us obviously didn’t care less that people had come a long way to find this.

Do these people realize that they are in the hospitality business.

Will never go back.

My husband & I drove from North Fort Worth to have the lunch buffet & it’s completely worth it! The food is amazing & buffet is a great selection. We were very sad that we were the only people in there because it’s one of the best Indian buffets in town. We will definitely go back! They are on the street behind The Galleria mall so check them out!!

Had some Indian Whiskey neat that was to delight.
Service was great. Though they auto added 20% tip for our group of 5.
Atmosphere was chill, was a little slow for a Tuesday.
Price per head was quite a bit on the high side.
Definitely worth the return visit.

Absolutely loved my visit to Mughlai Fine Indian Cuisine!
The food was delicious — rich flavors, perfect spice levels, and truly authentic taste. The staff were very polite and attentive, making the whole experience pleasant and comfortable. The ambiance was calm, elegant, and gave a real fine-dining feel. Everything from the service to the presentation showed care and professionalism. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Dallas — highly recommended!

I thought I didn’t like Indian food, but a co-worker dragged me here for a business dinner and ordered for me. I’m not even sure what all we had, but it was all really good. I guess I just hadn’t yet been to the right restaurant! Anyway, we had the vegetarian sampler appetizer, which also surprised me because I normally am a big meat eater, but it was great. We also got the bread basket, which was really really good. The goat vindaloo also surprised me because it’s the first time I’ve had goat that I liked. I can’t praise this place enough. Try it!

Went on a Saturday, had the buffet. It was wonderful! The food was fresh, hot, and very tasty with a good variety of dishes. The service was friendly and the place was clean. I would 100% go there again.

I don’t know if we went at the wrong time of day (1:30pm), but the buffet food seemed old. It seemed like the Tandoori Chicken and Kabab Chicken and possibly the Samosa was from the night before, but it wasn’t tender or very tasteful. The Vegetable Curry was nice as was the Saag Paneer was good too. We had hoped to discover a new place to go, but it just wasn’t a good experience for us.

Summary: Non-veg food is really good, Sweets are mouth watering, Veg needs improvement, Service is awesome.

Details: We had the honor of visiting the Sunday lunch buffet at Mughlai Restaurant to celebrate our friend’s birthday.
This was our second visit to this place for a real north Indian Punjabi style food. The first being a dinner about a year ago.

On both occasions and that too, a year apart, the food quality has been maintained and this is what i consider a very good sign for a really good restaurant.

Even though i really liked the food here, i have rated it as 4 out of 5 simply for the vegetarian’s sabzi’s taste. I feel they need a bit of improvement.

All other dishes were really good. You talk about Tandoori chicken in snacks or Butter chicken (gravy), you will end end up licking your fingers.

They probably have less number of items to choose in their Buffet, as compared to other restaurants, but their food taste stands apart. It is always better to have less but good options than plenty and below par quality.

The Dahi Vada (as they call Dahi Bhalla in Punjabi), was something that reminded me of Delhi. The way it is made is, you add Deep friend moong dal vada floating in salty curd to a bowl, top it up with sweet Tamarind chutney and Green Coriander sauce.
The real test of bhalla (vada) quality is their softness and these were melting in my mouth fast enough to even blink.

Tandoori chicken had two flavors, bone-less and with bone. Both were made with precision. The third chicken delicacy was Butter Chicken and was equally good in taste providing enough calories and butter to make one get into deep sleep for hours!

Chicken Biryani was fourth item on menu that had chicken in it. This is a sign that they somehow love chicken or they get real slick-deals on chicken stock!
I felt that the rice grain quality needs to be better with Biryani. Also, the texture was not as good as you would find in any other South Indian restaurant.

In the veg section, I tried Balti Dal, Mushroom sabzi and mix veg. Balti dal was good but other two options needs better cooking skills. The mix veg had a bit bit of extra water which spoils the plate. It should ideally be a bit dry.

The bread section had one and only one option i.e. Naan. My wife prefers crispy and hot Naan. This was not the case here. To add to the glory of their dishes, they should improve on serving the hot naan right on table.

Coming to the desserts, we had Gulab Jamun and Jalebi. The crisp Jalebi made our day with Gulab Jamun fulfilling my son’s taste buds. Both were good and had the softness and crunchiness that define their texture.

The restaurant service is good with servers re-filing, clearing plates, trying to make your visit memorable and the owner himself visiting each table to address concerns, if any.

My friend (who hosted the birthday) has been a regular customer here since this restaurant opened. He even has his picture in Dallas news paper article, having his team lunch, posted proudly on the, entrance.

No doubt, the restaurant is managed pretty well and has maintained its quality of food and service.

I would recommend this place for a real north Indian meal. They do have a bar and bar stools to have drinks too. Ambiance is good with dim lighting. They have a separate spacious room for party day’s too.

Will I visit again: Yes
