I stopped by Mudgie’s and had a great first experience overall. I ordered the Gutty sandwich with coleslaw … the coleslaw was just okay, but the sandwich itself was absolutely the best part of the meal. All of the meats (salami, pastrami, corned beef, brisket, and bacon) were incredibly flavorful and tender, and the combination of everything worked really well together. It came with a few chips and a small pickle, which was fine for what I needed since I was mostly focused on the sandwich. I’m already planning to go back to try their Classic Corned Beef Reuben.

I had the Brooklyn sandwich (sorry I forgot to take a pic) and my cousin, a vegetarian, had the vegan corned beef sandwich. We loved our sandwiches. Our drinks were also excellent. I had a bloody Mary w a small side beer. It was the best bloody Mary I’ve ever had. My cousin had a pickle-tini (like a dirty martini, but w pickle brine). This place was BUSY, but the food is why. Also, three cop cars parked illegally in front on the restaurant while we were there, and got take out. They probably know where the good sandwiches are and now you know, too.

Just okay.. we sat at the bar because of a wait. The sandwiches are good but not worth 15-18 dollars. It wasn’t horrible but it’s definitely not worth the hype.
We also got a carry out and it came with no chips and no pickle. I mean for 15 dollars I think I should get the whole meal to go. Macaroni salad was the best part of the meal. The music they played was good.

First time here and was really looking forward to it based on the reviews. We went for an early dinner. The place was at (most) 35% full and we waited 55 minutes for 2 sandwiches, almost missing our event at the Masonic Temple. Ordered the Sho’ Nuff ($16.50) and the Reuben with corned beef ($16). Sho’ Nuff – Turkey was very dry, there was barely any strawberry cream cheese and honestly didn’t have much flavor, and it didn’t have the triple berry jam. The Reuben was just okay, the sauerkraut tasted like it came from a can. Maybe they were having an off night? I don’t know. Way overpriced for what you’re getting. Overall a disappointment, especially with the hype around this place.

This place has been on my list to try for a while. I came here to grab a bite before going to a concert. I went during the perfect time. It wasn’t busy. The food was great. I got the Barrett corn beef with no slaw and a lemon drop.

First time here for me, but one of my wifes favorite spots when she lived downtown and Mudgies first opened. She told me the dining area was the only area that you could go too back then and the food was amazing. Well, this place grew from what it started out as and seems as delicious as it was back then. The food was absolutely amazing and fresh. The freshness is actually one of the most amazing things from the smell of the basil to the taste of the pickle. Fellow Veterans….they have a veteran discount! I had the Jerk in the Gluten Free options because I have too, and I am still salivating even though it has been over an hour now.
Telling you…if you are in Corktown then this is an absolute must stop for a bite on the newly named Greg Mudge St. That was the founder who sadly passed away in 2021.

We had heard great things about Mudgie’s so decided to swing by. We were not disappointed. We ate outside that had a nice atmosphere. They were a little slammed with guests, so the wait for food was a tad long, but the staff acknowledged this and kept coming to check on us. I had the Sorry Charlie – one of the best tuna sandwiches I’ve ever had! Definitely worth a stop!

Mudgie’s on Porter Street came through again with the kind of after-work comfort food that fixes your whole attitude. I picked up a roast beef sandwich on wheat toast with Swiss and mayo, and it was exactly what I wanted: warm, sturdy toast, tender roast beef, and Swiss that melted in just enough to make every bite rich without being heavy.
Shoutout to the wonderful employee who suggested Puszta unfiltered wine while I waited. It was such a great recommendation that I bought a bottle to go. Great food, great vibes, and genuinely thoughtful service. Mudgie’s stays undefeated.

After a nice 45 minute sauna experience at Meta Physica, I enjoyed one of Mudgie’s signature sandwiches the Jerk and the broccoli salad. The chicken was tender, the jerk seasoned mayo wasn’t too spicy and the staff was delightful. A perfect Sunday lunch that turned out to be a perfect fall day in Detroit.

I had to get the Mudgie. I wish the brisket was more juicy or had a sauce on it. The parts hanging off the bun we somewhat dry and tough, but the meat under the bun and touching the sauce was great. Heard the vegan and vegetarian options were amazing. I also heard the chicken sandwich could use some better seasoning. Definitely a place to go back to. Others shared that the wine and beer were also good.
PS: The pickles they gave with sandwiches were the best pickles I’ve ever had. I usually don’t eat the side pickle.
