This place is awesome! My husband and I went in for the first time on Sunday. We had just got back that morning from a red eye flight and we were tired and hungry after we had slept most of the day. The food was delicious, and the quality of the food is worth the price in my opinion. Some items might be a little pricey compared to the long time restaurants in Yadkin county, however the quality and atmosphere work with the price and we gotta move with the time. We don’t still live in 1995. Ignore the negative reviews and just be patient. Give these guys a chance. Anytime a place is new it takes time to get into a groove. I worked just under 20 years in the restaurant business and I feel this place is doing great. A huge step up in the right direction for Yadkinville. Keep up the great work!!

The food, atmosphere, and service were great! The filet was one of the best I’ve had. We ordered it plain, without the peppercorn sauce. Just steak, salt and pepper. It was perfect and worth every dime. It melted in my mouth. The Backyard Beet Salad was also fabulous. I added grilled chicken and they honored my request to blacken it as well. The house made balsamic vinaigrette and ranch were fantastic. We got there at 4 on a Saturday. No wait. But I wouldn’t have minded waiting on this perfection. So thankful we don’t have to drive to Winston anymore when we want a good 2” thick steak!

First, the service was excellent, waiting staff was attentive and professional. The environment is amazing, though I would say the seating plan is a little ‘off’ for how busy they were. Yadkinville NEEDS businesses like the Muddy River Tavern

That said, my chicken sandwich was burnt and impossible to eat. It took about forty minutes to get food after a thirty minute wait to be seated.
My kiddos had a delicious quesadilla.

We hope to try again in a few months after these *hopefully* growing pains pass.

1st time going here… Food was very good… Service was awesome and love the atmosphere… When you go make sure you check out the bar tops so beautiful the are old tobacco leaves… The manager was super nice telling us everything about the building history… Needless to say we will be going back again and again… Thank you for a great evening

Drink was flat. Told the waitress but she said they just changed the box (that has nothing to do with carbonation). Asked for lemon twice, did not receive.
Was served wings and a pizza by the hostess (?) with no plates to eat them on. The waitress did not return to ask if we needed anything (hot sauce, napkins, PLATES) until we were almost done eating.
She then disappeared and we just sat there waiting for a check while the bartender stared daggers at us. The whole vibe of the place is uncomfortable.
The pizza was decent, but small. The wings were nothing to write home about. The restaurant itself is clean and seems new. Maybe they just need better servers.
Would not recommend this place.

This was our first time here at Muddy River Tavern. We went to get food and to see the music of Michael Chaney live. I was so impressed. The manager greeted us in the beginning. Great communication. The space is big. Nice bar area. And enough room for tables and dancing. Enjoyed the food. Got a salad and onion rings. It was spectacular. Lauren the bartender was awesome and definitely on top of things. It was a busy crowd and she was handling it well. Definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back.

What a great place to join friends for dinner and some drinks. Staff is friendly and attentive, food was excellent, served hot and reasonably priced. Atmosphere and decor is really nice use of an old building. Have large bar and nice seating. Would highly recommend for a casual evening out. Will definitely return.

Our food was wonderful.
I had the build your own pizza and the perfect little side salad for like $5 plus the pizza price.
Just so good together.
My Wife had the Chicken Alfredo with salad.
We took a cheese burger home mustard, slaw, chili, and onion with homemade potatoe chips and ranch. We got the spinach dip with the pita bread as an appetizer.
Abby was our Waitress. She was fantastic.

My husband and I enjoyed our first dinner experience at Muddy River Tavern, a relatively new dining option and like nothing else in the local area. The owners have converted this space, which used to be a wholesale food warehouse, into a welcoming casual dining and bar environment with simple, yet interesting decor related to the local history. Most of the area restaurants are family style or fast food.

The hostess and servers were friendly and helpful. I like to see teamwork between servers and we saw that throughout our meal (at our table and within the area where we were seated.) At no point did we wait for refills or anything we needed. The servers pitched in and kept an eye on the area, not just their own tables.

We shared 2 entrees – the Buffalo chicken pizza and the Tavern Original smashburger. Both were served fresh and hot. The pizza crust was delicious. The grilled chicken was seasoned well and we both thought the flavors of the cheese, ranch, hot sauce drizzle and celery worked well together. I’m not usually a fan of smashburgers because they are often dry in my opinion. That was not the case with their Tavern smashburger. It was cooked perfectly and delicious with fresh toppings and a tasty sauce on the side. I would order either entree again without hesitation.

The menu is not vast and they only offer steak on certain nights, but that was ok with us. I would rather have fewer choices done well and carefully chosen daily specials than be overloaded with menu options that are mediocre. If a person is looking for fast food pricing or a wide range of fine dining entrees, Muddy River Tavern probably isn’t a great match. But if you’re looking for a relaxing, casual local dining option that provides good, moderately priced food and friendly service, Muddy River fits nicely.
