I was visiting family and they suggested meeting at Muddy Cow on Hardwood Ave S, Cottage Grove for lunch. We went Valentine’s Day (Saturday). There was plenty of parking spots and we got seated right away. The server was great and attentive to our tables’ needs and suggestion options while we ordered. The menu has a variety of options from burgers/ handheld sandwich to salads. There are tons of tvs around the place: Olympics, Daytona 500, baseball, and the in restaurant “pig races” were displayed. This was probably the only downside to the place. It is probably geared towards families. I know in the day my kids would have loved this place. I wasn’t sure how it worked but about every half hour, staff walked around the tables and sold a ticket, and later there would be some cartoon race on one of the tvs. It was fine the first 2 times but as it got busy, it became loudy to talk. There was a claw machine near our table too. The food was served quickly and was very good but messy. I ordered the BLT Burger. The portions were on the medium to larger size for my group. We were there awhile just chatting and the staff didn’t rush us to leave. I would high recommend this restaurant.

First time here(won’t be the last!) fun atmosphere(it was Halloween)Great customer service. Food was delivered timely and hot. We enjoyed our food. Fries/onion rings were crispy with good flavor. 2 for 1 drinks. Bloody’s were very tasty. They had raffles and betting on races on tv if you wanted to join in. Saw they had a bingo night.

Arrived around 8pm with my niece for dinner.
It was both of our first time there. I went to use the restroom, it had somewhat dim lights; went into a stall and there was urine on the floor. I was disgusted. Informed a worker about it.
Service was decent, waited about 10mins for all of our food + appetizers. Our appetizers arrived first, no plates were provided. We had to ask for it 2x, so we can eat our appetizers. Towards the end of our meal, we asked for 3 boxes and lids for our leftovers. The server gave us 2 boxes, lids, and no bags. The restaurant wasn’t too busy for a Friday night.
We order the trio chip & dips, buffalo wings, prime rib and dip sandwich and the Paul Bunyan burger. Fries were both of our favorite 5/5. Wings were hot and fresh, good amount of sauce, and the ranch was very saucy. 5/5. Trio chip & dips 3/5, it was very salty for me but my niece didn’t my mind it. I had the prime rib and dip, meat was tender & the cheese melted perfectly; dipping sauce was good 4/5. It didn’t really impress me but it was good. My niece said her burger was very messy to eat, she’s had better but it was still a good burger 4.5/5

I walk in and everyone knows me…. I love Michele, Noah, Levi, Sara, Kyle, Marcus, Taylor, Steph, Nate, Erin and the whole crew. Always quick with a smile and service!!!
Costume parties, Bingo, Trivia and the Pig and Horse races are so fun!

My Daughter invited me and my wide and other daughters out for dinner at the Muddy cow. I have been there a few time in the pasted. The server we had was awesome. Never did catch is name. The service was outstanding tonight. I had there Paul Bunyan burger was one best burgers I have had in long time. My wife had there mushrooms and Swiss burger she said that was outstanding. Also it was 2 for one drinks. Overall experience was outstanding. I will differently stop at the muddy cow again soon. Also did not know till tonight thay there sold pull tabs. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and welcoming.

We gathered as a family at the Muddy Cow to celebrate the twins birthday. The food was absolutely fantastic. I order the smothered meatloaf. My first time to order, and what a great choice. Plenty of food on the plate, cooked to perfection. We were a party of twelve, and everything was nearly perfect. I had to deduct 2 stars under service. 3 people had to wait for their food quite a long time. I was finished with my meal before the 3 delayed orders arrived. It is important to note our waiter was exceptional. The failure was undoubtedly the kitchen staff. I found this strange, as the crowd was actually light. Our waiter was working the entire floor, and it appeared there were 3 people working in the kitchen. Nonetheless, the Muddy Cow of Cottage Grove gets my highest recommendation! I’m thinking this little SNAFU is an unusual occurrence. I plan to eat there again for sure.

We went to this restaurant randomly while out shopping on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t too busy in the Cottage Grove restaurant. It’s a nice bar & restaurant with a LOT of TV’s throughout. I would say you could probably sit anywhere and see a TV will. There were several College Food games on here and I could watch multiple games at the same time. This would be a great place to watch sports! We were greeted as soon as we walked and immediately seated. Our drink order was taken very quickly and brought out and our appetizer order taken as well. The service was great! I ordered the Prime Rib dip and she ordered the Philly Cheese steak sandwich. When it comes to the food (at least what we ordered) is where I was not too impressed. The two sandwiches where almost exactly the same except the Philly Cheese steak had suateed onions and peppers on it. The sliced beef on each sandwich was not tender it tasted and chewed like it was sliced beef that was fried on flat top…. yeah not very impressive that’s for sure. However, We did like the cheese curds those were very good and fresh. Overall the restaurant was very clean and the service was very good.

The food was yummy. I really enjoyed the comfort of bar food. It was also very filling. We weren’t sure where our server went, and it was a good thing that we had everything we needed before she went MIA. The environment was little a sports bar. There are a lot of TV, and it would be a distraction if you wanted to converse deeply.

Our server was unfortunately not friendly and came across as pretty rude throughout our visit. She even seemed irritated when we asked a simple question about the Wild jersey raffle. On top of that, she kept forgetting parts of our order.
On the positive side, the food was actually pretty good, and the place has tons of TVs, which makes it great for watching different games. The gambling games were fun, especially the pig and horse races!

We visited on a Sunday at lunchtime and had a just about perfect restaurant visit. Extraordinarily good food, great service on the patio, everything came out in good time–really, as newcomers to the area, this was the kind of lunch that encourages us to come back repeatedly. Everything was delicious, but the absolute stand-out was the poutine.
