Hidden gem on the river. The server was AWESOME! She was cheerful & helpful! Tried the combo with 2 meats. Fried Catfish filets, exactly what I was hoping for, so delicious. I really wasn’t impressed with the pork, didn’t have a taste to it & the texture was mushy. Tried both yellow (mustard) & white (mayo) slaw. They both were good. Fried okra was good & not over battered. Loved how they do hush puppies. The pork sandwich with white slaw is the other picture.

Mud Creek BBQ restaurant been around for +50 years so they know what they are doing. Situated on the shores of Lake Guntersville in Hollywood AL Restaurant has a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Mud Creek has great Catfish and Bar-B-Q! Want to know how to tell if you are in a good Southern catfish restaurant? Do they offer hush-puppies and if so do they taste good. Yeah the folks at Mud Creek know how to make them hush-puppies. After the hostess seats you the server brings you a basket of hush-puppies as an appetizer while they take your drink order and let look over the menu.
Wife and I decided on the Combination Platers. She got catfish filets & chicken strips. I got whole catfish and shrimp. Shrimp, catfish & chicken were all fried to perfection. We both had baked potatoes which were baked to perfection, served piping hot, soft and fluffy all the way through. We tried their mustard based slaw & it was excellent. In past visits I’ve had their BBQ and it is also good.
Server staff was great, food was excellent, and our dining experience was very good. Will definitely be going back there to satisfy our catfish cravings. They are everything I look for in a good Southern Catfish restaurant.
