Stopped by for lunch when I was traveling through the area. I ordered the GG special plate, which comes with 2 pieces of chicken and 2 pieces of fish, 2 hush puppies, and 2 sides. I picked the red beans and rice side, and the mac and cheese side. Let me say that everything on the plate was absolutely wonderful. There was not a single thing that wasn’t delicious in the mix. Even the restaurant’s own hot sauce and house tartar sauce were extremely good. I then couldn’t resist the call to finish this wonderful lunch with some of their banana pudding. Which was also wonderfully tasty. To anyone travelling through the Columbia area I highly recommend you making this a stop on your journey. And if you live in the area and haven’t eaten here yet, then what’s wrong with you? 5 stars for sure!!

The food is so good!! The chicken was perfect and falling off the bone. The catfish breading was so very tasty. And the sides were extremely delicious. We also tried the fried pickles and they were the best I’ve ever had. I definitely recommend Ms Kims!! We also spoke with Ms Kim and she is so sweet!! We will for sure be coming back soon. We loved all of it. Edit: We also got cheesecake and it is mouth watering!!

Ms. Kim is so awesome. When she has time she comes out to visit with her customers making them feel as if they are guests in her home. The greens are to die for if you’re a collard greens lover like I am. The food overall is excellent.

Ms. Kim’s Fish and Chicken Shack is the place to go in Como! Scrumptious down home cooking! I had the GG Combo (chicken, fish, hush puppies and two sides) with Collards, Red Beans & Rice, and yes…. I had three sides… Black Eye Peas. Yep, I was all in, no playing around. The food delivered and the service did not disappoint. The chicken was perfect crunchy crispy melt in your mouth outside and juicy chicken inside. The greens .. oh my goodness take me back to the South Side of Chicago back in the day when my grandma cooked. Everything was wonderfully perfect! Our waitress, Marjorie, was great, informative, funny, attentive, and gracious. Ms. Kim came out from the kitchen and checked on us. She was a delight. If you are from a family with southern roots in cooking this food will remind you of being back home. The food only leaves you asking yourself one question, ” How soon can a come back?” I recommend this spot highly!

The fish and chicken were amazing! The prices are very friendly and I would go back again. Though I would stay away from the fried pickles, pickle chips that have just a tiny sliver of pickel and we’re fried to long. The Mac n cheese was good but too rich for my taste.
