Traditional home made style southern meat and three type of place! No flair but friendly faces and fast service. Their pies were almost sold out by 4pm so make sure to get there early! Their chocolate pie was amazing.

A very cute small local country restaurant. We wanted to go to a local small town restaurant so asked at the gas station, they recommended them and was not let down. You could tell it was a favorite for the locals because everyone seemed to know each other but they welcomed new people. Food was good and so was the service. We will go back if we are in the area.

Get off the Parkway and stop here! Authentic Country diner cooking and atmosphere will take you back in time. There’s even a big case of homemade pies and cakes!

Our waitress was friendly and informative. She even confirmed information about the local museum and other points of interest in the area.
Ms. Becky’s merits a 5 star rating for authenticity and preserving the country diner experience, complete with a steady stream of locals.
3 stars are given: although was pricing very economical, Peppered Gravy was bland and cold. The $1.25 locally sourced sausage patty was flavorful, but was very small and a bit overcooked. My friend received her food 14 minutes before my food was delivered. This type of service is unacceptable.
I will ABSOLUTELY return for another opportunity to try the meat and 3 sides!!

Recommended by the people at Pennyrile Park since the restaurant at the park has closed .
It’s just a small place but the food was excellent home cooked style ( meat and three ) the fried cornbread was the best I have had anywhere.
The next thing is the very reasonable price of under 10 bucks .

This was our first time here and I have to say it was delicious. Friday and Saturday is catfish day ! I had the one-piece catfish dinner with slaw, fries, white beans and hush puppies. My wife had a cheeseburger and fries and hers was delicious as well. Amber gave us great service and I would definitely recommend asking for her section ! We will definitely be back.

So we showed up on Sunday out of the blue when everything else was closed, and the place was absolutely packed. I was nervous that they wouldn’t be able to seat us or the service would be poor, but our waitress knew exactly what she was doing and really took care of us. If you’re not from around there, people may stare a little bit but they are very friendly. The deviled eggs were my favorite thing on the menu, and I was slightly disappointed with the prime rib size.. it was really small and overcooked.

Passing through the area and decided it was time for a meal. I like hometown dinners so I dropped in WENDY’S PLACE for coffee with a burger and fries. Staff were very friendly and attentive; my coffee cup never got empty. The food was excellent; fries were fresh, hot and plentiful. The menu had a wide variety of sandwiches as well as entrees (country fried steak, fried fish, shrimp etc) to choose from, and the plates came with 3 down home sides of your choice. I overheard other customers complementing several different meals. Don’t let the negative reviews deter you as they appear to be for the establishment previously operating there. Wendy’s Place is a nice diner with a comfortable atmosphere worth visiting for a good meal !
