Excellent food. Fried chicken, mac n cheese, n yams were excellent n wife enjoyed her meal as well. Affordable specials are around $9.50. Entree, 2 sides, cornbread, n drink. Very filling. Highly recommend n will be going back.

I am highly upset with the food I received. When my partner walked into the restaurant, he said that it was a strong burnt smell. I figured hey maybe something happened so our food should be fine. That was not the case at all!!! we were served fish that was so burnt tasting It was inedible. I’m assuming that they burnt something and didn’t change the grease out …..Why would you serve something like this to somebody? !!!!! We spent $40 on a meal and it was burnt food!!! The Mac and cheese looked like it was a day old!!! Never again!!! And you can’t even call them so that they can make it right their phone line doesn’t work. This is so unacceptable

Very glad I came here today . The food is excellent. Jasmines service with people is very pleasant an peaceful. Down to earth spirit. I couldn’t leave the parking lot the food was soooo mouth watering. The meat loaf just melted in my mouth. I saw people of all nationalities coming into this black own establishment for lunch . This is the best service I have seen in along time. I will be back . God bless

I used to love this restaurant years ago when it was at the previous location. However, I was disappointed with my experience today. The lady at the register had a bad attitude. The place wasn’t clean – trash on the tables and floor and booths not wiped down properly. The food was mid at best. The cornbread was delicious. The fried fish was okay. The macaroni and cheese and candied yams were disgusting. They were out of several items on the menu. I will not be back here again.

Haven’t been in a long time, since they did buffet style. My cousin & I went yesterday & everything was cooked to perfection, honestly better than i remember. That was the first time I had “the itis” after a meal in so longggg lol! Only disappointment was they didn’t have smothered porkchops but the fried porkchops were still really good! The koolaid was also really good!! We WILL be back!

First time coming and definitely the last time. I got the meatloaf it was ok but a small portion. Collard greens were salty. Corn bread was dry tasted mediocre. I was hoping it came with some whip butter like at Mr. C’s. We dropped $45 for two of us. Definitely better soul food places in san antonio. It’s sad when a Mexican can cook better soul food at home. Standards serm low at this spot. Not very welcoming for first timers.

The food was amazing, forgot to take pictures but we had the fried fish and fried chicken. Which both are a great pick. I did have to have the chicken because they ran out of smothered pork chops. So next time I will try those. The mac and cheese, greens, canned yams and mash potatoes were all tasty. Our waitress was amazing and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this resturant. Enjoy
