Oh, Mr. P’s was very warm welcoming and food was very good. We started with a drink, a Margherita and a warm roll, and got fresh NC clams a tad salty but was warned a head of time. They were good. We also tried the fried green tomatoes, vey good and sauce was great. I had started with a ceaser salad with anchovies also very fresh and delicious. I got the 8oz prime rib, so tender and juicy. My sides were 4 scallops, fried green tomatoes, and potatoes. All very good and flavorful. It was a very nice restaurant and would definitely be back. Thank you for a delightful evening.

We had an excellent diner while in Southport at Mr. P’s Bistro! We shared the 3×3 oyster appetizer and it was delicious and pretty filling as far as an oyster appetizer! The meal portions were generous and my husband and I each had leftovers to take home and enjoy the next day. I had the crab stuffed fish of the day, which was flounder, and it was absolutely delicious. The grits and fried green tomatoes on the side were also enjoyed the next day! My husband got a blackened prime rib and he said it was delicious. He was able to order it Oscar style and it was a huge meal! A friend recommended this spot for dinner, and we will definitely be back! As other reviews mention- definitely make a reservation!

Edited review. I can’t begin to tell you how fabulous this meal and entire experience was! The food was superb! From the French style oysters to the cup of clam chowder everything was amazing; BUT the show stopper for me was the Soft Shell Crab served with a side of fried green tomatoes and fresh corn…Oh my!!!!

Food was very delicious, large menu to choose from. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. A bit on the pricey side but did have larger higher end menu options most places in OKI don’t have. The atmosphere could use some work. Somewhat of a rustic borderline run down place is also very small. Do not go without reservations.

First time here but will definitely not be the last! Employees were super courteous and attentive! Our server Sam (Samantha) was the best server we have ever had, anywhere. Super sweet, personable, knowledgeable and made sure everything was perfect for us. The food is to absolutely die for! I got the grilled sea scallops, roasted red potatoes and fried green tomatoes. The flavors of each was incredible and the scallops were grilled to perfection! Others at the table had Prime Rib, Crab cakes and Filet Mignon all of which received rave reviews. You will NOT be disappointed in your dining experience! P.S. Ask to be seated in Sam’s section!

This is a wonderful restaurant with a fine-dining atmosphere! Definitely call ahead by a day or 2 to get the day and time you want to eat because it’s very rare to get a good time the day of since they’re so busy… for good reason! I have eaten at this restaurant multiple times and have never been disappointed! The Oysters Rockefeller are a must try appetizer! I could eat all 6 by myself but I was generous and shared them! When you’re in the Southport NC area you should absolutely plan to eat here!

My family and I have come here three years in a row when we all meet for vacation near Southport. The food and service has only improved upon an already excellent first impression. The wait staff is courteous and professional, the food is fresh and of high quality, and the atmosphere is one of class, while also retaining the relaxed feel of a hospitable southern dining experience. The food and drinks are a little pricey, but that is to be expected when such a stellar menu is presented. I can not recommend this establishment enough, and we can not wait to return next year.
