Dining at Mr Patakon feels like a true Colombian experience. I tried several dishes and every single one delivered amazing flavor. The bandeja paisa was generous and perfectly balanced, with rich, comforting flavors that truly taste homemade.
The yucca cake stuffed with rice, beef, and cheese was outstanding—soft, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The empanadas were crispy, well filled, and even better when paired with their house ají, which had just the right kick and depth of flavor. The slow-cooked flank steak (sobrebarriga) in criolla sauce was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor—you’ll want to soak up every drop of that sauce.
To finish, the obleas for dessert were the perfect sweet ending to an excellent meal.
Great atmosphere, friendly service, and truly authentic flavors. If you’re in Indianapolis and craving real Colombian cuisine, Mr Patakon is a must-visit.

Stopped by this restaurant while visiting Indianapolis. The prices were reasonable and the portions were generous. The service and food were both great, and although there was a small issue with my order, it was handled well overall.

This a nice hidden gem alongside the strip! My wife is from Colombia and felt very at home when she came in. All the menu items are traditional Colombian foods a from all over different regions. The owner was very friendly and even talked to us about where we should visit on our honeymoon. Definitely going to come back with the rest of the family when they visit!

Pretty fantastic place! The food seems authentic in that it’s very, very different than what I’m used to, but exceedingly delicious.
The staff here is incredibly friendly, though it’s usually just one or two waitresses they manage to keep the food coming out quickly. Give them a little grace, they work.
Note: I don’t believe the older gentleman who mans the register speaks English, nor does the actually run the register. Just ask him for help and he calls a waitress.
It’s hard to recommend anything because I’m really enjoying everything I try. Once I get further through the menu I’ll try to remember to update this review.
Until then, I highly recommend trying this cute little place!

Delicious food! The portion was perfect on the bandeja paisa. Everything was well seasoned. The beans were so good I started eating it like soup I think the natural drinks are a bit expensive for the amount you get. I got the Soursop drink and it was watered down even though I asked for it in milk. Our appetizers came out with our food order, so that was a bit disappointing. We will be back

We just recently moved to the area from Medellin, Colombia. So really excited to try Mr Patakon. With no time or energy to make dinner, after moving into our apartment we decided to try the restaurant and wow what a great experience. Andrea and Melany absolutely loved it. It was super delicious. And the staff there was so amazing , especially to see fellow Colombians. We will always miss Medellin. But now we have a great place to get a taste of home.
