We really liked this restaurant. Sort of like a diner/family style restaurant as far as food goes. Its homey, friendly staff, very fairly priced, good sized portions, down home cooking. Not fancy, and thats right up our alley. Their pies looked really good.

We went yesterday. I had not been to lees on probably 10 years they had good food and good service back then. We get seated and were told “one of us will be back to get your order.” As far as the food we never got any. We sat for 45 waiting for our order to be taken. We absolutely will never be back.

My wife and I arrived at Mr. Lee’s on a Sunday about 7:30 a.m. We were the first customers. The service was prompt and friendly throughout our visit. They had no music playing, which we found very enjoyable. I had the cheese and bacon omelet and a side of home fries. Their omelets are made with two eggs, so they are just the right size for me. My omelet had a nice balance of cheese and bacon. The eggs were moist. A good omelet. The home fries were sliced thin and we’re served slightly crispy around the edges. Just right! I shared them with my wife, and she found them to be very good. My sourdough toast was lightly toasted. Our waitress made certain that our coffee cups remained full. Thank you! My wife had two eggs over-medium and whole wheat toast. The total bill was about $20. I highly recommend Mr. Lee’s. (They are closed on Mondays.)

For more than 40 years, my wife and I have made this one of our frequent stops to or from WV, VA, NC, SC, or TN. Being just a little way from I-70 on the old national road (US40), makes it very convenient. The food is always good. The staff is friendly. We especially like the egg salad sandwiches and the cream chicken over biscuits. Occasionally, we can squeeze in one of the delicious desserts – strawberry pie being one of my favorites when in season. Sometimes we just stop for the ice cream. OOPS, my better half just reminded me to mention this is one of the few restaurants we have been to lately that still provides placemats. These are unique – showing ads from various local businesses.

The food was fair/okay. The kitchen decided I wanted BROWN gravy with the RED gravy that comes with the cabbage rolls. On the same plate. Who does that?

First I would like to say anytime over the many years we have traveled to Cambridge to my father’s grave we have Always stopped at Lees kitchen for thier awesome fried chicken and pie and always have had great service and great food, HOWEVER we stopped on Father’s Day and we were seated fast and pretty much helped quickly, our first impression was the waitress was a little short but we understood as they were busy, we asked for the fried chicken and she stated ” we don’t have any for some reason we can’t get it in, but we have baked chicken??? That I was a little confused about but I went ahead and ordered the baked chicken because I figured it would be just as good, boy was I wrong! it looked liked it had been over cooked and tasted awful at the first bite, then I cut into the thigh part there was black like bone all through it, it looked nasty and tasted nasty. Our waitress came by and asked if everything was good and I politely told her I didn’t care for the chicken and showed her why , she looked at me and asked me if I would want something else and I said sure I would just take a cheeseburger and fries , she went to the kitchen where I thought she was placing my order but then an older women came from around the corner and with a very rude tone and ask ” is there a problem ?” then I explained it to her and once again with a very rude tone states ” well your the first person to say that ” then she proceeds to ask rudely “do you want something else? and by this time I am highly upset and let her know with a rude tone ” absolutely not!!!” . I did not appreciate her tone and disrespect. Our waitress then came by to ask if the manager was getting me something else and I told her no because she was extremely rude and I wasn’t going to purchase anything for myself , she offered me a slice of pie and I took her up on that offer but to my surprise she charged me for it, which is fine but she made it sound like she was making up for the absolute terrible service we received. I am so disappointed, I know we all have bad days but there is no excuse for that behavior. We went down the street afterwards to get a drink and my husband spoke to a manager just out of sheer conversation and she stated that Lee’s has went down hill, so sad to hear.
