About the coolest looking old school diner out there. They are a family spot with great service and a wonderful feeling about them. The Lancaster County style steaks are awesome. Soft bread, grilled steak, and all toppings you want. Fantastic fries all served with kindness and care.

Excellent family owned establishment. The quality of the food served is consistently very good to excellent. Tried and true flavor over the many years my family has enjoyed the Mr. Joe’s cheesesteak sandwiches with onions and cheese. If you stop in say Hi! to Ralph!

My boyfriend brought me here for a cheesesteak. It was delicious! The environment is spacious and charmingly nostalgic for a New York City girl like myself. I stared at the old school Coca Cola decor and menu display and drifted into childhood memories as I waited on my cheesesteak. I bonded with whom I believe to have been Joe, via our matching Yeti mugs. My cheesesteak was ordered with onions and mushrooms, no sauce, American cheese. It was tasty and obliterated my cheesesteak crave. For drinks we had their vanilla soda, not Vanilla Coke. “Their “ vanilla soda. It too was delicious.

Great old school spot, service was a little meh, but the food and atmosphere make up for it. Will be back next time I’m around!

Ordered a chicken cheesesteak with sauce and onions to go…
1) menu board showed price at $9.30 for a large
2) the “large” was barely 11″
3) was charged 11 and change, then the credit surcharge totaling $12.41
I’ve had better food in truck stop diners, more personality in H.R. meetings, accuracy in pricing, and better value at Walmart. I understand everyone now has higher credit fees… but just a few years back it was figured in the price of what you pay, but at least tell your customers that there’s an extra fee for plastic

Finally found a good cheesesteak in Lancaster County after moving out here from the Philly ‘burbs. Took a while and about half a dozen or more places before trying Mr. Joe’s. The steak was seasoned perfectly, and the roll was excellent. I’m not sure if they put it in a steam tray or just throw it under the lid in the final steps. Whatever they do, the roll was soft and tasty. Service was a little slow as others had mentioned, and the place probably looks the same as it did in 1954, which is why I won’t give a straight 5 star, but it was very satisfying.

When you yell at people out of your front door for parking in a parking lot that isn’t posted, I dont want to try your food. Good luck with your future business.

Amazing! The bread is not too tough like most places, but also holds up if you get sauce because the sauce is thick and on top away from the roll (I used ketchup for this one). Probably the best meat I gotten in a cheese steak, and chopped to perfection.
It sounds like some people feel uncomfortable eating alone if they don’t have other customers (???) Weird, but I also ate alone and it was a nice view and the staff was very friendly.
For the price and convenient location, you really can’t beat it!
Size pictured is half of a medium sandwich.

I love old forgotten about places like this but there are pitfalls, namely service can be pretty poor and the food (cheese steaks) were pretty average.
