Authentic U.P. pasties, pretty far south! Tasty, filling, and juicy – not dry. Their dough is nice and pillowy and it’s crimped at the top rather than the side which gives a nice crusty bite while keeping it easy to cut into. As they were closing up shop I could tell they were in a rush and were having some issues with their card scanner… But they went above and beyond with kindness. I’ll be back next time I’m headed up north!

Awesome lunch spot at a great price. I went the last 2 days getting beef pasty with gravy one time and chicken pasty with gravy the next. They are a great lunch. Adding sour cream is suggested. I also had the cookies and cinnamon twist roll which were super. Quick service with tables inside. You can order frozen ones…

If you know me ya know I know a few things about Pasties.
If we’ve recently become friends well some will tell ya I make some of the best Pasties that money can buy.
We finally took the time to check this place out and I gotta tell ya
Mr Foisie has got probably the best I’ve ever had outside of my own kitchen.
The aroma when we walked in told me I was about to enjoy something delicious without even seeing it first and my senses were right!!
A perfectly roasted, stuffed to its bursting point tender crust with a perfectly seasoned filling of potatoes and rutabaga. I chose the chicken and the wife selected the beef, we had ours with gravy and after the second bite we both agreed we waited way too long to give this place a try.
We highly suggest giving this place a try if you’re in the Cadillac area. He’s located on the West side of lake Mitchell and if you’re a Pastie lover you will not be disappointed.

I’ve been in Michigan for more than twenty years and I am ashamed it took me this long to try a pasty.
– Beef Pasties – $9: 50 cents extra for gravy. This seems to be the authentic deal. It is a pastry stuffed with potatoes, onion, rutabaga (I didn’t notice a huge flavor of this), salt, pepper, and eurobutter. You can choose chicken or beef and I chose beef. It was served plenty hot from a warmer. Though it was not made to order, it did not taste stale or anything.
They mentioned copper and iron miners made these for a good hardy meal and one that would stay warm for a long time. It is a UP delight.
– Service: They were quick, helpful, and answered my questions. They also take large orders.
– Atmosphere: They have indoor tables and chairs, but also picnic tables outside. It was a quaint Michigan atmosphere with some old antiques and games.
– Conclusion: I’d recommend every Michigander give them a try.
Visited on a Tuesday a little before 11am.

Stopped in for lunch and was greeted by Amanda who was very, very nice and hospitable. She asked what we would like and I said we had come from Jenison, seen the place on the internet and this was our first experience with a pasty. She said, in that case they were free to sample them. We found them to be very tasty and bought 6 frozen ones to take home. Was worth the drive and Amanda made the experience even more enjoyable. Thanks Amanda. Will stop again when we are in the area.

The pasty was the size of my folded hands– fresh fluffy crust that soaked up the hot gravy. Decor had the right kichyness to make it comfortable and homey. Definitely worth a stop

What a find! This spot offers quick service and great food, making it an ideal lunch stop with tables inside. I went on back-to-back days and was thoroughly impressed by the consistency. I highly recommend their signature item: the pasties! I enjoyed the beef pasty with gravy and the chicken pasty with gravy—both were excellent. Be sure to try adding sour cream! The baked goods, like the cookies and the cinnamon twist roll, are super. Plus, you can even order frozen pasties to enjoy later. Fantastic food at a great price.

I ordered three beef and three chicken with one pound of gravy of each. We also picked up wood the day before. Awesome service with friendly staff who are quick and efficient. The food only needed a little bit of salt and pepper but was so filling. Definitely will be going back again to try the apple and other great choices they have.

This is a nice small restaurant with quick counter service and a cozy interior. Lots of nice looking desserts are available, but I came for the pasties. I had a beef pasty with gravy for dinner, and it was both delicious and decently priced. The pasty had a nice flaky crust with good flavor, and the fillings were nice and rich. I’d definitely recommend them for their pasties.

I stopped in to get dinner on my way “up north.”
In and out in 5 minutes.
This was my first visit – but I will definitely be back.
Just pop the pasties in the oven for 25 min at 350 degrees and voila – you’ve got a great dinner.
The beef pasties tasted great.
Make sue to ask for gravy.
A slice of berry pie from Mr. Foisie’s topped off a tasty dinner.
I get tired of the same old fast food.
At Foisie’s, I got slow food fast.
