I’ve tried several different dishes here. All tasty. But I went absolutely crazy over their veggie burrito with no cheese or sour cream. You can taste all the seasonings and perfect heat from their red hot sauce. The perfect blend of chopped tomato, lettuce, onion, beans all fresh. Their pictures outside don’t do justice. The hand made tortilla is toasted nicely. Still warm when I got home. If a chef can make such simple ingredients so flavourful, then he’s an excellent chef indeed! It’s my favorite now and I’ll go there even more.

If Orange County crowned a champion of comfort-Mexican cuisine, the title would go straight to Mr. Albert’s Mexican Food—no ceremony needed. This unassuming spot doesn’t rely on flashy décor or gimmicks. Instead, it leans entirely on what truly matters: bold flavor, generous portions, and the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate what’s happening in your mouth.

⭐ The Super Fries With Carne Asada:

The Dish That Should Have Its Own Holiday

Let’s start with the star of the menu—the Super Fries with Carne Asada. Calling them “super” almost feels too modest. The portion arrives like a small mountain: crisp, golden fries buried beneath a glorious avalanche of melted cheese, cool sour cream, fresh guacamole, and salsa that tastes unmistakably homemade. But the real triumph is the carne asada.

Perfectly seasoned, tender, and smoky, the asada here has depth—none of the dry or stringy disappointment you get at lesser spots. Every forkful is loaded, balanced, and shockingly addictive. It’s the kind of dish you go in planning to share… and then absolutely do not.

⭐ Taquitos:

Orange County’s Best—Full Stop

Taquitos are too often an afterthought at many Mexican joints. At Mr. Albert’s, they’re a point of pride. The shells are shatter-crisp without being greasy, wrapping around a well-seasoned filling that actually tastes like something. Topped with fresh lettuce, cheese, and a drizzle of crema, they hit all the right textures: crunchy, savory, and bright.

They’re simple—but executed with such confidence and consistency that they stand out as the best in Orange County. The kind of taquitos that make you nostalgic for a childhood you didn’t even have.

The Verdict

Mr. Albert’s Mexican Food isn’t just good—it’s the kind of good that inspires loyalty. The kind of place that becomes a weekly ritual, a late-night refuge, a secret recommendation whispered to friends. In a region overflowing with Mexican restaurants, Mr. Albert’s doesn’t merely compete; it dominates.

If you’re looking for flawless carne asada, legendary taquitos, and comfort food done with heart, this is your spot. Expect to leave full, happy, and planning your next visit before you even pull out of the parking lot.

This place I do not I repeat do not recommend
I had decided to get this for Christmas Eve dinner since I just got off work. I mad a HUGE MISTAKE!!!! My mom had ordered the carne asada burrito and I had the super fries. One they have jacked up the prices like crazy . It was 40 dollars for 2 things. Then once eating out dinner we realized the meat was under cooked both the asada and the chicken. We both woke up on Christmas with food poisoning. The service was horrible and the rush you. Save your money and go somewhere where they know how to cook.

$19 for a bean & cheese burrito and 3 rolled tacos? What a rip off. Seriously the worst beans I’ve had out of any of the sombrero yellow hat joints. No flavor or salt in the beans and worst of all crusty. I will never come here again. Molcasalsa is the best, this place is not it.

Have been ordering from here for a while and tonight found a literal rock a rock in my curly asada fries. Almost broke my tooth. I have no clue how a rock ends up in the food or could even be near the food but won’t be eating here again.

I ordered a combo #5. The taco was really good and the beans and rice were okay. I cut into the enchilada and it’s not even cooked, the cheese is not melted at all. Other than that the sauce had good flavor but I couldn’t eat the enchilada. Wouldn’t recommend the enchiladas.

Food is ok. For the money portions should be much better. Barely a spoon full of rice/beans. For the same price, I can go to a small restaurant that uses regular plates and gives you your money’s worth of rice/beans. But if you get the super fries. They actually hook it up.
