The service was excellent. The food came out fast. Plus the prices were very reasonable. It was the first time me and my wife have visited. Will definitely go back for more items on the menu. I had the Catfish with Mac and Cheese & Green Beans. My wife had the Meatloaf with Mac and Cheese & Cabbage. All of it was full of flavor. Plus the Soul Rolls.

Finally made it to Mr. A Ok’s Kitchen!!! It was everything I’d hoped for!! Real food!!! Real food made with love that you can actually taste! My kiddos loved it just as much! Take a look at the pictures! The food was amazing!! If you haven’t tried it, go! It’s a must! My only regret is that it’s taken me years to finally get out here! I’m always on the go and as a family we cook alot at home but when we dine out we like to try a bunch of stuff on the menu wherever we go.. today we had Mr. A Ok’s Soul Rolls, Fried Green Tomatoes, Meatloaf, Fried Chicken, Fried Fish, Chicken Fried Steak, Greens, Mash, Mac & Cheese, Cabbage, Corn bread, Sweet Tea… and we took one of each dessert home! We live and work on the Southside but we gladly drive all over SA trying different spots! Our meals today were sooo full of flavor true Soul Cooking!! When food is cooked with Soul you feel it, you taste it and that was very much the case at Mr. A Ok’s Kitchen!

This is our favorite place for down home tasting cooking like Grandma used to make! We tried the Rib plate from here and it was excellent. The sides we got were greens and fries. Our go to favorite is the tender grilled liver and onions with gravy, fried okra and greens. The cornbread is moist, sweet and very tasty. We order from here often and have never been disappointed. The food is always freshly made, well seasoned and very tasty. Would definitely recommend and will certainly continue to return.

Everything was great. Started off with the Soul Rolls and dipping them in the gravy, took them to the next level. Next came the Meatloaf with Cabbage and Green Beans. All three had a great flavor. Ended with the Sock It to me cake. Minster Tanya is very attentive and makes sure you are enjoying your experience there. Will be bringing my other half soon.

Once we found this place as it was sitting back off the highway, it was great! The best meatloaf since my Mom’s, mashed taters and the most awesome mac n cheese. I had to have seconds on that. Very clean and the server was so helpful. Just good ole southern cooking.

Authentic Soul Food! We tried the Soul Rolls which are meatloaf, Mac. N cheese, and collard greens in an egg roll wrapper. Wow! Husband had the Mr A OK sandwich, I had the grilled pork chops. So good!

We love eating at Mr. A Ok’s Kitchen & when we can’t dine in, we do take out. We love the food, the staff & the owners. We feel right at home. My wife & I love their liver & onions. My personal favorite. The soul rolls, cabbage, mash potatoes, macoroni & cheese & the yams. We also enjoy their meatloaf, pork chops & wings to name a few. Decided I wanted to try soul food for my birthday today. Food was piping hot! Staff was wonderful! Food was delicious! Would definitely come back and enjoy more from the menu. Did I mention they have the best cornbread I’ve ever had in my life!
