Turkey was juicy and flavorful. The dressing was soft and I could taste the care they put into it to make it. The cabbage was out of this world good!! Cabbage was cooked and seasoned to perfection! The gravy had the perfect consistency of flavor and texture. Then they had the decency to have the BEST cornbread I have ever laid eyes on! Cornbread was soft, sweet and sealed the whole deal!!!!! I am beyond satisfied with this place.
Fish and chips were fried to perfection as well! My husband had this plate and mentioned how well the batter was seasoned and fried without being full of grease. It was absolutely delicious as you can tell from my picture lol I wasn’t able to get a before picture of his plate. The homemade tartar sauce was on point as well. We will be back again!
If I could give this place 10 GOLD STARS I would!
Please be patient when you go as the food is made to order! Which is way better than having my food waiting for me!
Great staff!
I had fried okra and mashed potatoes with my turkey plate. Damn! That okra was fried to perfection! Oh man, it was very crispy and very good! My partner had mashed potatoes and yams. I tried the yams and they were delicious as well. And let me tell you, that turkey was so tender and totally delicious. I really wanted to try the stuffing as well and it did not disappoint, especially topped with the turkey gravy.
We dined in but they also have to go as well. Glad we finallly made it here. Give them a try if you can. Delicious food.
Soul rolls- excellent! Meatloaf- excellent! Same for black eyed peas and macaroni & cheese!
I wish I could give ten stars.
I’ll be back again!
The moment I stepped inside, the friendliest ladies greeted me and were super patient l while I stared at the menu like it might talk back. I landed on the 6-piece chicken wing meal with two sides and what I can only describe as the sweetest cornbread of my life.
The vibes were cozy, laid-back, and just plain peaceful. My order came out hot and smelling like seasoned happiness, and I made a decision to not eat at my keyboard.
So for the first work lunch this year, I put my phone down. No scrolling. No emails. Just me and 6 fried chicken wings that demanded respect.
Those fried chicken wings? Gave me that crispy crunchy sound with every bite AND the meat was still juicy. The mac and cheese? Soooo gooey and cheesy, that I forgot I can’t have that much dairy (YOLO).
NOW that cornbread?!?! Best cornbread I’ve ever had. Forget a wedding cake! I want three tiers of that.
I’m officially a fan and will be back with my family, because I saw banana bread on the menu and didn’t shoot my shot.
I’m coming for you.
Prepare the back of the house ️
UPDATE: Visited here again a few days ago with a friend for a lunch dine-in. The customer service and food here is excellent!!!
This is our favorite place for down home tasting cooking like Grandma used to make! We tried the Rib plate from here and it was excellent. The sides we got were greens and
fries. Our go to favorite is the tender grilled liver and onions with gravy, fried okra and greens. The cornbread is moist, sweet and very tasty. We order from here often and have never been disappointed. The food is always freshly made, well seasoned and very tasty. Would definitely recommend and will certainly continue to return.
