I ordered a pint of each brisket, burnt ends, Mac n cheese, Mexican street corn, and smoked mushrooms. Total $82. I was so excited when I picked up my order.

The brisket had two actual slices of brisket in the container the rest was little dry and burnt pieces, some inedible.
The burnt ends were PORK, fatty & dry pork. Burnt ends are definitely not supposed to be pork but are supposed to be beef. The pieces had so much unrendered fat. Very unappetizing. We threw most of it away.
The Mac n cheese were average and probably the “best” part of this meal.
The Mexican street corn had some, what I can only assume, cheese mixture on top but the corn itself looked gray and had little resemblance of Mexican Street corn.
The smoked mushrooms were so peppery that wet could not eat them. All you tasted was pepper.
I grabbed some sauce from the sauce counter and Sweet Baby Ray was recommended. I can buy that at any supermarket. I got Texas sweet and Alabama white and they were okay.

The person taking my order over the phone was very friendly and offered suggestions when I called. Kudos for that.
I cannot speak to the atmosphere because I only picked up but I can tell you that the place was completely empty on a Wednesday night at 5 pm. The place next door was hopping.

I really wanted to like this place. I was so excited. I used to live about 1.5 hrs away from Dallas and have had my fair share of TX BBQ. This place was unfortunate not it.

Stopped here on New Year’s Day with the family. Talk about a great selection on the menu and the food was awesome. Cheesesteak is definitely top tier, plenty of prime rib, cooper cheese and good roll.

Nice to have this place local

Great food for good prices. I had the cheesesteak with Cooper cheese. It was amazing! My wife and kids loved the sliders. We also shared some fried mushrooms and south west egg rolls. Everything tasted great! Very nice service and staff. Thank you! We’ll be back soon!

Mountaineer Meat Smokers is true Texas BBQ, and I’m saying that with full Texas pride. The brisket was tender, the ribs were packed with flavor, and the pulled pork tacos were out of this world. Every bite tasted like home. Try the pickle flight! We had the taco, old bay and the dilly all delicious!

If you want authentic Texas barbecue done right, this is the place. Absolutely worth the stop! Rv Travelers make the stop plenty of parking !!

Had a chicken cheesesteak, Mac and cheese, and brisket nachos. Everything flavor wise was pretty good, Mac and cheese just needs a little help. My sub just wasn’t as full as some of the others I see on here and that alone can make or break coming back to people. I would Rather pay more for good size servings. We were the only ones in there on off peak hours so they weren’t really busy at all. Great and friendly staff & nice place though. Just need to fill the subs up a little more for the price of the subs. Especially chicken since it’s cheap. Sauces were also good as well. We will go back, for now.

I recently spent $47.55 on a basket of cornbread, a 1/2 rack of ribs, and mac and cheese topped with brisket at this BBQ spot. It was my first time trying their food, and I placed my order to go. The cashier was super friendly and helpful, which made the experience pleasant. So far, I’ve only eaten the cornbread, and it is delicious! However, I do echo the common complaint that the food portions seem small for the price.

We ordered the half rack of ribs with collard greens and the brisket balls with mac and cheese. Everything came out awesome. The ribs were smoked to perfection and not salty like a lot of other places. They didn’t need to hide their cooking in sauce or spices. The brisket balls were very tasty and had the right amount of spice and filling. Thoroughly enjoyed them. The only thing I could think of that was disappointing was the cornbread. And that was still very good, I just think it wasn’t homemade. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we received. The service was also wonderful. We even went back later and picked up another full rack of ribs.

Mountaineer Meat Smokers is true Texas BBQ — no doubt about it! This place is amazing. I had the brisket and ribs, and both were tender, smoky, and absolutely delicious. Even our youngest, who is the pickiest Mac ’n Cheese kid ever, devoured their smoked Mac ’n Cheese!

We’re Texans traveling back home from NYC, so we had to stop it was worth every minute! Thanks for making this drive a little easier!

Love this place but the quality of the food has gone down so much. Nice staff, but Raw Brisket balls… was told the meat was smoked so it won’t hurt me, however it was like a raw meat paste. My brisket on the cheesesteak was so cooked, it was like eating straw…. And it said 8 inch sub but was only 6 inch. We paid over $50 for a bad lunch. Hope quality returns!!! This used to be our favorite place.

I called and placed an order with Mountaineer Meat Smokers. I accidentally went to Mountaineer Pub, not realizing there was another business nearby with “Mountaineer” in the name. I walked into the pub thinking I was in the right place and said I was picking up an order under my name. The bartender looked at her screen and told me it was not ready yet, but that I could pay. The amount was close to what I expected, so I handed her my card. She swiped it, gave me the food, and I went home.

Once I got home, I realized the order was wrong. I called Mountaineer Meat Smokers, and that is when I discovered I had gone to the wrong place. I brought the food back to Mountaineer Pub and kindly asked for a refund. They refused, saying the food could not be resold and would be a loss for them. I spent quite a while there trying to work it out, including calling my bank, but the pub still refused to do the right thing.

I left the food with them and called Mountaineer Meat Smokers to say I would not be able to pick up my actual order because of the money I had just lost dealing with the pub. As I was heading home, Mountaineer Meat Smokers called me back and told me the order would be on them. They even offered to drive out and meet me. I had not gone far, so I turned around and met them at the restaurant.

Travis really came through in righting a wrong that was not his to correct. I felt terrible about the mistake I made and about the pub being selfish enough to keep money for food and business that was never theirs. Travis went above and beyond, and because of his generosity and compassion, I will absolutely return to Mountaineer Meat Smokers for future meals. I ordered the brisket quesadilla and the pulled pork sandwich, and both were phenomenal. The atmosphere inside was warm and lively, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was clear to me that Mountaineer Meat Smokers truly cares about its patrons.
