I was unsure at first because of the mixed reviews but my Airbnb host stated that this restaurant is good at making traditional home style meals. I made up my mind that I wanted liver and onions before even arriving. However I didn’t see liver and onions on their menu! Pam (my waitress) said I could still order it and asked if I wanted gravy with it or not. She ended up giving me the gravy on the side and I am glad she did! The liver and onions alone were good but combined with the gravy, it was definitely more flavorful and delicious. My meal was also served with cornbread and a roll. I had their collard greens and fried squash for sides. The collard greens were amazing! The squash was my least favorite and that was only because it needed seasoning, it was still good. Pam was super friendly and attentive! If I were to ever travel back this way, I would definitely eat there again. I highly recommend!

All flavors were good. I heard mix reviews. The seasoning was super and I’m from the south, I love my food seasoned! The turnips, okra, and corn bread were delicious! However, I had beef tips and rice as well. This was my first time having big chunks of beef tips&rice that were really tuff, so tuff I couldn’t chew the meat pieces! Beef tips are supposed to be tender and I’m afraid to say this wasn’t at all.

We stopped at this place for an early dinner after meeting to drop off an adopted cat. The taco salad was a good size portion and very good. The club was also really good. We got french fries for the side with the club and they were tasty too. We will definitely stop by again next time we are in the area or on our way to TN. The menu was pretty varied with Italian, Greek, and other options so there should be something for everyone.

They have very generous portion sizes. It has a home cooked appeal. I would not recommend sitting on the left side. The ice machine is very noisy. It is a humble place.

The country style steak over rice with lima beans and turnip greens was really good. The portions were generous which was a treat compared with most restaurants today. The price was fair and the service was excellent. Definitely recommended.

I needed a good meal for lunch and today’s lunch was spectacular. I got the Thursday special. $12.45. Included turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, roll and cornbread, two sides…. I got green beans and candied yams. It was hot and delicious. I was served by a very polite and attentive server. Got iced tea too.
There was plenty of food. I really enjoyed it. I’d highly recommend.

The food was ok, could’ve used some kind seasoning if I am being honest. I will say though for the shrimp likely being frozen it was actually cooked perfectly. Sadly the star of the show was the tartar sauce & not the food itself.
The tables were clean, but I did notice the blinds across the room from us looked very dusty. This place always seems to be so packed so I don’t see what the problem would be to upgrade some things inside…
The only big problem here (for me) is the service, I think we were checked on 1 time the whole time we were here.

My husband drivers truck, we were in North Carolina and wanted something local. We were not disappointed! The staff was very pleasant and sweet! We had the grilled pork chops, I had a baked potato and cottage cheese, he had a baked potato and rice w/gravy. The chops were so moist, tender and delicious! The baked potatoes were delicious too! It also came with a cornbread roll and dinner roll. We left with full tummies and happy!
If we’re ever in this area again, we will be back!
