Wow! Just wow! We came to Murphy to celebrate our anniversary. Stumbled upon this place when walking around downtown and trying out different restaurants. If you want a truly exceptional experience, go here and ask for Jake. He is a rare bread. A TRUE mixologist. I told him I loved martinis, almond/amaretto, and drinks with egg foam. He made me, hands down, the best martini I ever had. And not too mention, he showed us how to make it so my husband could remake it for me when we got back to GA. I would go back to Murphy, just to go back to see Jake.

This is a fine example of how to make a cozy, inviting, and entertaining space where you can enjoy some perfectly crafted cocktails. Being married to a Brazilian woman it was inevitable I’d be introduced to Brazil’s most famous cocktail, the Caipirinha. It’s my favorite cocktail and I can’t find a bar or restaurant with 2 hours drive that serves it. Well this venue has stunned me with not only having it on the menu but Jake crafted my wife and I the best Caipirinhas outside of Brazil. His would easily hold up as an equal to the best in Brazil. I also tried one of Jake’s personal creations named Feathered Serpent and it was awesome, my wife had a Paloma and she loved it as well. The service from everyone was exceptional and swift. Fellow patrons were incredibly kind and friendly. The seating was spacious and so comfy. Casablanca was projected onto a screen opposite of the bar and my wife and I enjoyed lounging in a super comfy leather couch right in front of the movie and the owner and bartender brought our drinks to us. There is even a digital Juke Box to play music from which we really enjoyed finding 1920s music and giving the place a little speakeasy vibe and then some Brazilian songs that more than a few people seemed to enjoy. One of the best date nights we’ve had in awhile. We will definitely be coming back.

MVL is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a great time. The bartender Jake is world class and loves the challenge of making a drink of choice. Ping pong and darts make a night out fun and the comfortable seating elevates the experience. Not a spot to miss and definitely worth the time.

Cozy and welcoming. Love the fireplace, and Shelby and Jake (bartenders) are both great mixologists. Karaoke is fun and intimate and the best (and only!) fun thing to do on a Sunday.
