Been here a few times now, so here goes…

Great people running this establishment. Always courteous and always happy to suggest a menu item. Seating capacity has doubled since they first opened. Place is spotless every time I visit. Service is prompt and food is served hot & fairly quickly.

The atmosphere here is quiet, quaint, & cozy. A place where neo-rustic melds with 50’s diner meets contemporary casual. Well lit without blinding lights. This is exactly what I’m seeking when dining out.

The pulled pork is the most consistent I’ve had anywhere; never too done or too chewy, with a pleasant but not overpowering smokey deliciousness. Their coleslaw tastes like homemade, as does their Mac & Cheese, and that’s a good thing! Even their fries are far above par. Never had a bad or so-so meal here.

Just tried deep fried corn on the cob. Crunchy good!. Got 3 meat platter. Pulled pork, brisket, and smoked chicken. Delicious. Had to take half home. Mac and cheese creamy. Wait staff friendly. Clean and bright atmosphere. Got a bag of their pork rinds. (Money maker!). Would recommend to family and friends!

Food was good, not great but good. The service has room for a lot of improvement. We had to go ask for more drinks ourselves. Our server was more interested in staring at her phone than checking on us. Order was wrong but she never came to check on us after she brought our food. Maybe it was a one off experience.

This was our second time visiting Mountain Que and we were majorly disappointed. We order three different meats from menu. The ribs were not tender nor flavorful, the pull pork tasted as though it had been cooked solely in boiled water, and the brisket looked fake (it did have a mild smoke flavor though). The garlic parmesan vegetable side was very clearly spiced up vegetable steamer bags and the greens were completely unseasoned. The only good thing that we ate were the French fries. I don’t believe we will ever choose to go back there again.

Did not make a great 1st impression. We ordered barbeque sandwiches and fries, simple enough… wrong. The barbecue sauce was like water and tasted mostly like vinegar, the fries were the limp like they had been cooked previously and reheated. 30 some dollars worth of food that ended up in the trash. Not sure if it was just an off day but can’t bring myself to go back.

Delicious food. Went for lunch tho and from the menu, looks like their most delicious offerings (especially if you don’t do sandwiches) are only offered after 4pm for dinner. They do have an amazing brisket salad tho.

Local favs- Barbecue, Deep fried corn on the cob and the burgers here…

My first visit to both WV and Mountain Que and I definitely recommend this place. Jason and his wife Catherine are very welcoming and hospitable which is the first thing I look for in a business. The place is in a town called Hurricane ( Hurri-can) and includes free parking behind the building. The food was mind blowing and I’ve had my share of barbecue, trust me! The ribs were my favorite and was told the burger is a got to as well, will need to try next time. Next, you’ve gotta try the local deep fried corn on the cob, its magnificent! Lastly, it’s a local spot in a local area which makes for the perfect experience in the West Virginia state. So I definitely recommend this place during your visit in the Mountain state. Mountain Quuuuue!!! Check it out and tell em I sent ya lol
