If you’re looking for a place that makes you feel at home and where everyone knows your name, this is the place. The owners and employees are all fantastic people and phenomenal servers and waitstaff. Friday night karaoke is the best! If only I had more stars to give.

My happy place! New sand laid down on the beach, cool lake water, great vibe. The owners are amazing.

Cell service is practically non-existent (though I understand they are working to bring a tower to the lake). That doesn’t detect from the charm. It wouldn’t be a lake getaway if you could answer emails from your phone.

There’s always a burger and a Nutty Buddy to be had.

It’s crowded but friendly on weekends and holidays.

Love the Mountain Lake Club and Lake Shannondale! Great food, brunch, beach and activities. Everyone on staff is so friendly. The drinks, like Orange Crush, are so fresh on a hot day. They also have a little food stand on the beach for basic food and Popsicles for the kids. There are kayaks and boats to rent. They also have axe throwing and a fishing dock. Something fun for everyone in the family!

Amazing “Best kept secret” in WV! Beach is clean, the staff is helpful, the food is good, and fun was had by all! Highly recommended for families with children of all ages. You can access the entire Lake, not just the roped off area. You kayak, canoe, SUP board, swim, raft, tube….etc. So much fun.

An Awesome place to fish! The lake offers catch and release fishing opportunities for bass, bluegill, crappie, yellow perch and catfish. It is a nice and quiet place to fish with hardly anyone on the lake! The lake is 65 feet at the deepest with an average depth of 35 ft. Also, this is a very clean lake with no trash in the water.

The lake is membership based, which helps keep people out who want litter and leave trash about. The membership is a bit pricey, but quality of the fishing is well worth it.

My girlfriends and I were staying in the neighborhood in November and stumbled upon Mountain Lake Club on a walk and met the lovely owners. We came back later that night to try out the line dancing. So much fun!

Then, completely randomly, a few months later, I was going on another girls trip with a different group—and I realized we were staying in the same neighborhood! Which meant: Back to the Mountain Lake Club! This time, it was a Friday night so that meant karaoke – our favorite! Wonderful and fun group of people (I’m assuming locals), super tasty food (nachos, pizza, salad), solid drinks, and a whole lot of singing and fun. This is a gem – I can’t imagine how fun it is when it’s actually warm outside and you can play at the lake! It feels like a local neighborhood bar where yes, everybody knows your name.

The lake and community look beautiful, but I’m concerned about the information online about Ecoli and fecal contamination from farm runoff and manure. Looks like the Shenandoah Valley area has struggled with contamination of its recreational waters for over 40 years. Serious question- any feedback from members of the Mountain Lake Club?
