This was our first time to this diner and to say we was disappointed is an understatement. The atmosphere is ok, the place is clean and the music is nice. Although the men’s restroom was disgusting. The service was lacking and we didn’t feel welcomed by the waitress that served us. We were left waiting quite a bit and were given an attitude when we had questions or needed more time to make up our minds. She also never came back to ask how we were doing while we ate or to ask if we liked the food. We did not! The food was quite honestly horrible we did get breakfast so maybe their other dishes are better. But the ham was rancid, the French toast my husband ordered had an off putting flavor. They brag about their juice options but we noticed their cranberry juice had been watered down. The most I can say is that when I was finally able to get our waitresses attention she did listen about the ham and had her manager take it off. Only after giving an attitude though. Needless to say we will not be back and we will not be recommending this diner to others.

The same bad songs keep playing. The ladies were nice. But the food meh not worth the price sode isn’t made right so it’s mostly soda syrup no fizz. The burger she asked how I wanted it but it I said medium it came out well done and no flavor. Co slaw had nothing on it it was just shredded cabbage. And my son’s pancakes idk what type of pancakes there were but they wasn’t regular. They were suppose to be Nutella which at IHOP they have it like inside here it was just a dish of Nutella on the side of like apple cinnamon cardboard type pancakes idk what brand they were. The burger wasn’t worth $12 and idk just isn’t worth the price sorry. The ladies were nice though and the place is very clean . Lol and now the ladies trying to screw people by saying they don’t have receipt paper for credit cards copy say less ladies.

Found by accident. Took a little bit for waiter to take our order, but most everything was good. All staff was courteous. Pretty spacious and outside dining available. Lots of choices but we stuck to typical diner offerings. Would recommend if in the area and hungry!

The place looks pretty cool. It looks like a train cart but super sized. Dinner can cost a bit more but generous portion. The server is really nice & professional.

Ordered online Florentine Benedict, which is supposed to use spinach instead of meat, their own website lists the ingredients and there was no ham or pork. We get home and the spinach was loaded with pieces of bacon, we threw it right in the garbage! My girl is allergic to bacon. Called them up & they said “we don’t list all the ingredients online!” Refused to give us credit!
Also ordered the Caesar salad which was tiny like a child’s portion. And lastly we ordered a Reuben sandwich, it came as an Open face Sandwich and the bread underneath was so wet that it disintegrated. The french fries that came with it were cold, bland, undercooked, and tasteless.
The most horrible quality food I have had in years! I just threw my money away! I will never go back there again!

Great diner I always stop by weather riding my bike on the palisades parkway or after hiking around harriman park. The food is good and they are very accommodating. Been coming here for 4 years now.

I order a chicken sandwich through uber eat and received a tuna sandwich, without the fries. In the app it says sandwich with fried and a choice of an extra side. when i am speaking to the manager instead of working with me as a new customer new to town he decided is best that i was wrong and i explained they have an issue with their system and still continue to debate i was wrong. Amazing management.

There’s a reason it took over a year for me to try this place, even though it’s very conveniently located/close to where I work. A few co-workers ordered from here a while ago and hated it, and the locals I know won’t go near it. I finally decided to give them a shot yesterday for lunch, and…it could have been worse. I think in these dark times we take that as a victory.
Out of every eating option in the area, the Mount Ivy Diner is probably the hardest to miss. It’s literally right off the southbound exit ramp of the Palisades on 202, on a busy enough section of that county highway that there’s literally a traffic light placed at their exit so you can safely (and fairly quickly) get out of there – you’re probably waiting close to five minutes otherwise. When I stopped by, there was tons of parking both on the side and behind the building, and it was pretty clear why when I walked in. There was one table and one stool occupied at lunchtime. That’s it. They must be dramatically making up for that on the weekend or something because I genuinely don’t know how they’d stay in business otherwise. I was given free rein to pick my seat, and I secured a booth closer to the middle of the restaurant by the window.
It seemed best to play it safe here, so I stuck with the breakfast menu and ordered the Eggs Benedict. They were okay but probably not something I’d get here again. As you can see from the attached picture, they went WAY too heavy on the hollandaise, and one of the poached eggs fell off the side about two seconds after I snapped the shot so the presentation wasn’t ideal (not that that’s insanely important at a diner, but I also shouldn’t have to literally place the egg on the Eggs Benedict back on the English muffin before eating it). I also wasn’t a huge fan of the accompanying hash browns; they had chunks of pepper and onions in them, which I wasn’t crazy about and ate around, and even despite that were pretty tasteless.
The service was fantastic though, and that salvaged the experience to some extent. The waitress came off like a cagey veteran and was super attentive, efficient, and professional. It certainly helped that I was close to being the only game in town for her at that particular time, but she was pretty much perfect. The overall negative impression this place left on me had nothing to do with her. The food came out within a couple of minutes, and when I wanted to grab the check, it took less than a minute to do so.
If I get another near-term diner craving, I’m going to go further down 202 to Sparky’s in Haverstraw. The food was better and the vibe wasn’t reminiscent of a mausoleum.
