We care about your food, where it comes from, and how it’s prepared. All our meat is ethically raised and locally sourced from Heartland Fresh Family Farm in Donnellson, Iowa. Our hickory for the pit, our collard greens and other veggies come from Kroul Farms in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. All our meat is barbecued the traditional way – low and slow over a hickory fire carefully tended by the pitmaster. The place had to be done right, and we think we got it. The chance to bring this food, drink, and dining experience to North Liberty brings us great joy – we hope it brings you a bit of joy, too!

Food is great and the pizzas will surprise you (homemade crust and quality ingredients). However, the pizza consistency leaves something to be desired. I ordered a 14 inch pizza, but it felt like only the center 7 inches had toppings and they were sparse. This has happened more than once, unfortunately.

Great experience! Brian waited on us and was very knowledgeable about their menu and offered great help in picking our meal. The ribs, pulled pork, brisket, Mac n cheese, and corn bread all came out prompt and prepared to perfection! I have to say that it might be the best BBQ in the area! The patio was very comfortable and the blues music set a relaxing tone! I highly recommend!!!

My pork oil can nachos were great. My better half had the pulled pork, chicken and brisket, the meats are perfectly smoked. It’s a nice place for bbq and a few beers.

Brick oven style pizza, toppings were stingy. BBQ is ok. The brisket was really good. Service was not good. Had to wait forever for drinks that were small and watery and very expensive. Appetizer took forever (fried pickles) came out, but chef comped it (up front, we didn’t ask) because it was the last batch and didn’t turn out how he wanted. One person got pulled chicken sandwich, it was more like chopped up chicken with sauce poured over it. Probably won’t go back.

Not a fan. Sorry for those that like this place. Smoked meat was a couple days old, we went on Monday. Service was subpar. The servers just weren’t on top of it and we couldn’t tell if it was lack of experience or just obvious neglect.

Barbeque done right. The Picnic gave me 1/4 lb each of ribs, chicken, and pork. With the extra sauces I could soup them up just right. The Cubano was meh, ok but nothing to write home about. Hush Puppies had good flavor and texture.

Wow was excited to come here last winter 2022. Walked in and stood around for 10 minutes. Place was empty. No hello or anything. Eventually sat ourselves and someone came around after some time. I was thinking of just leaving (which I should have and gone somewhere else).
