We made reservations for dinner, so we could check out the Christmas pop-up theme. The place was very cute with their decorations. It really was done well. The service is great, both with seating and server. The issue we ran into was the food. I got the cottage pie which was overcooked. It was dry and slightly burnt. Matter of fact there was another customer behind me that came up and said he had sent his back as well. The server was very apologetic and asked if I wanted to get something else. I got the bolognese, but it was cold. I tried it today for lunch, but it didn’t taste very good. That might just be me though. It might just have been an off night for them, I’ve heard good things, but would have rated lower if it wasn’t for the excellent service and atmosphere. My wife did enjoy the drinks and my mocktail was very good. I’d probably give them another try, but its an expensive test, we dropped $130 last night.

This was the second time visiting this establishment. We came for the Valentines Day menu being offered and had reservations for 6:30 pm. Both times we visited, the atmosphere was very festive and wait staff were pleasant. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the food service itself. The place was not very busy but it took us over 1.5 hours to get our meals. I felt bad for our waitress as she kept apologizing for the appetizers and main courses taking so long. This place caters to large groups, and it appears they take priority. My wife and I weren’t upset until the food came out. Everything looked beautiful, but as others have mentioned in other reviews, the food was cold. They took it back and reheated the meats but left the sides cold. I joked with my wife that 30 seconds In the microwave would fix the problem, but we just ate it cold. They tried to offer us a free dessert for the inconvenience and brought it to the table before we had even started the entree. In short, food presents well, large groups take precedence, and it takes longer than usual to get your food. The couple behind us came in about the same time and heard them say they had to leave to pick up their child. The delay is in the kitchen and management. Great potential but we won’t be back.

First time experience was awesome. I went on Saturday, 1/3/2026. The first date night of the new year.
I made a great choice!!
Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and very personable.
I am not good with names but I do remember that there was a drink named after her.
The food was great served hot.
I would definitely go back again and I have already recommended it to several people.

My husband and I were really excited to visit Mosaic, especially seeing it all decorated for the holidays. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations.
Although we had a reservation, when we arrived there was no hostess at the stand. We waited for nearly five minutes without being greeted or acknowledged. During that time, two servers walked past us without saying anything. We also noticed several dirty tables that hadn’t been cleared, along with cleaning bottles and rags left out in the dining area, which wasn’t very inviting.
When the hostess finally returned, there was no greeting or welcome at all, which felt unprofessional and unfriendly. Once we were seated, our server was kind and friendly, which was a bright spot in the experience.
Overall, we’re not sure if they were short-staffed or having an off day, but the lack of hospitality at the front of the house really impacted our visit. When we left, the hostess again said nothing to us. I would recommend additional training for front-of-house staff, as a simple greeting and acknowledgment can make a big difference.

We went for happy hour and tried some appetizers and some of their specialty holiday drinks. We enjoyed both and would come again. They were decorated for Christmas and it looks very festive.

Good service. The food was hit or miss. The risotto was sticky and poorly executed, though the scallops were actually quite good and the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, the shepherd’s pie was extremely dry and disappointing. The holiday drinks were underwhelming—very small pours for the price. Add in loud music and an even louder crowd, and it made for an unpleasant dining atmosphere overall. Not a place I’d rush back to.

Exquisite Dining experience. MOSAIC is a must! I have passed by his gem weekly on River Road not knowing I was passing by one of the best restaurants on River Road! Not only is it a stunning atmosphere, the bartender Jill is a master at her craft. Their executive chef Mike definitely has a Michelin star in his future. All of the food that we ordered was amazing and we were also greeted by the owner as well. I have to admit I eat a lot of places in Richmond and this one is definitely a standout by far ..spend your money and have a good time it’s definitely worth it!!

Went there for my husband’s 60th birthday. The celebration was noted on our reservation but the server never mentioned it or asked if we were celebrating. First off, our food was delicious. Every time we have been there, it is consistently good. The decorations were festive for the holidays, which is one reason we chose it.
However, as seems to be the case with so many places these days, there simply weren’t enough waitstaff. Our server had 4 tables of 4, plus a large table of 10 but was also behind the bar making drinks. There were backup people who brought our food, but the wait between drinks, ordering, appetizer, entree and dessert was long. Our plates were not cleared between courses. We did get our dessert for free
so that was nice. Main issue was the noise level. I really couldn’t hear my husband at all so it was a disappointing 90 minutes trying to celebrate his birthday.

This was our first time at this restaurant and I must say they did not disappoint. We ordered the mussels, crab cakes (3 each), the bread basket, green goddess salad (added salmon) and the burger. Everything tasted great from the aioli sauce in the burger to the sauce in the bowl of muscles, our taste buds were doing backflips. 10/10 recommend.

Excellent food & service. Cocktails were delicious too. We shared a few appetizers for dinner and greatly enjoyed it. The Thai Chili Brussels & the Gouda Pimento Dip were our favorites. I’d pass on the crab cakes in the future, but only because I wanted them to have more flavor.
