Parents of Littles keep in mind of the gift shop. My kids were spoiled with overpriced mermaid toys on this occasion, it’s our vacation after all!
They even have a penny presser machine which was so fun and we made three pennies, sorry penny shortage!
Overall we had an amazing time!
Other reviews have complemented the clam chowder, and I had a bowl. I have been hard to please with clam chowder because my standard for comparison is Splash Cafe in Pismo Beach, California. I enjoyed this one every bit as much. The differences were Mo’s prominent bacon addition, and it wasn’t quite as heavy with cream, which my family would have appreciated.
I also tried one ala carte piece each of their panko-beaded cod and beer battered halibut, enjoying both with the drizzled juice from the lemon slice and the tartar sauce. The cod was my favorite, and happens to be the cheaper of the two options. I also ordered the garlic parmesan cheese bread, which was delicious and generously came as two slices.
My server was friendly and helpful, offering to settle my brew questions with a sample of each of the two beers-on-tap from the recently-defunct Rogue brewery nearby. I chose their “Mo’s Kolsch by Rogue” and I am sure it will be missed.
This visit was an all-around great experience, and I hope to be back here some day with the family.
