Valet parking is $8, and I definitely recommend making a reservation if you’re going on a busy night.
The bread they bring out while you’re waiting is sooo good — but pace yourself! There are way too many delicious things coming your way to fill up early.
For my starter, I went with the lobster bisque and honestly… I could come here just for a bowl of that any day. It’s that good. My center-cut filet mignon was cooked perfectly, and the Rémy Martin Sauce Au Poivre added just the right elevated touch. Sour cream mashed potatoes and creamed spinach? Classic, reliable, and never a letdown.
The espresso pot de crème was very runny (more than I expected), but still tasty. I’ll probably stick with the crème brûlée next time.
Service-wise, it hasn’t quite been a consistent five stars for me. The first time we dined here, our waiter was fantastic — he matched our energy and made the whole experience fun. The second time felt different. The waitress came off a bit condescending — over-explaining menu items, double-checking that I saw the price of a wine I’dordered, and insisting the dessert was “supposed” to be that runny. Definitely some room for improvement there.
Overall though, the food keeps me coming back — and for Dine LA, it’s absolutely worth it.
Service: 10/10 Jeffrey and staff did a wonderful job making us feel so welcome for our special dinner.
Food: 10/10. 22oz Bone In Ribeye, Miso Black Cod (broth poured tableside), Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Molten Chocolate Cake Sundae.
Thank you Morton’s!
POWER HOUR. Daniel/Danny took great care of us. Definitely ✅✅
Drinks (Dirty Martini, Old Fashioned, Cosmo): all 10/10 (❤️ they offer Blue Cheese stuffed olives for Martinis).
Smashburger Sliders: Perfection! 12/10
Petite Filet Mignon Sandwiches: 8/10 (too much bread, not enough meat). Another patron ordered 2 orders with no bread and think that’s the way to go. He’s a regular and swears that’s the best way to order.
Thick Cut Onion Rings: 9.5/10. The onion rings were delicious. We just couldn’t detect any truffle in the Truffle Dipping Sauce.
Hand Cut Potato Chips: 10/10. Their Blue Cheese dipping sauce is the bomb! Morton’s should bottle & sell that and make a gazillion dollars. Soooo good!
Hot Chocolate Cake served as a Sundae: yep, it exists. You won’t be disappointed. 10/10
Date/time of visit: Friday night, ~ 7:00 PM
Parking: valet, $8; no validation offered. There’s public parking too but when I attempted, the gate was open so didn’t get a ticket so I thought it was free. When I entered, gate closed behind and I was stuck with no ticket; had to call for help and took ~5 mins to get out. Was going to go back in but decided to skip all that madness and valet. Not sure how much public parking wouldve been. If you don’t have cash for valet, you can also charge it your bill
Party size: 7; 2 teens
Environment/ambience: was a little loud. We sat near the kitchen so maybe that’s why. Bathroom was clean. Pretty crowded; reservations are needed. There’s a dress code too; no shorts, slippers, or clothes that smell or give off an odor. Not sure if it’s enforced.
Service: was great; she came around often and food was cooked as requested, with no issues. All steaks were cooked Medium-Rare. Folded napkin when I stepped away to restroom and came back
Food: had the Prime NY strip (not dry aged), Parmesan Truffle Fries, Old Fashioned, Seafood Tower (lobster tail, Oyster, Tuna), Cream Corn, Lobster Mac N’ Cheese, and Creme Brulee. Everything was good.
Cost: $1140, including tip.
Would I go back (yes/no): 90/10
Too many service failures to list here. Suffice it to say that I started to understand the lack of adequate service had to do with our Server being woefully undertrained.
One easy example, when our Server used their breadcrumb tool to clean the table after the first course, our Server scraped the food crumbs into their barehand versus a bread plate or worse comes to worse, a table napkin, a “fine dining” cardinal sin. Same thing again after our entree course, but this time into the same barehand they had an empty champagne glass in. Disgusting.
I asked the “ manager” to come over to our table after we had been sitting at our table for well over 30 minutes and our drinks had yet to arrive. I was very discreet in my appeal to provide our server with assistance, he rolled his eyes in a knowing way that indicated that he was not surprised that I was asking for help.
I had to ask him to come back to the table a second time when my wife and daughter were finished with their first course and I had yet to receive mine, although our Server assured me that it was on its way out after they had dropped my family’s first course.
Again, the knowing eye roll.
The only reason that I gave the low rating for food had to having ordered the Rack of Lamb mid-rare and it came out badly charred on the outside and raw in the middle.
Jeff at the door was very professional and personable. Same for the Valet crew.
The California Cab Flight was exceptional.
No, nothing, not a penny was comped.
I have dined all over the country and not only is it not fair to the “fine dining” customers, but it is extremely unfair to the FoH team members that are woefully undertrained.
Yes, the restaurant has a fairly decent rating. This was our first visit. I am hoping our experience was just a one off, but that is still no excuse when you are spending over $500.00 for a special occasion.
I do not blame our server, this “fine dining” establishment is obviously in desperate need of a true Leader.
If you happen to be a member of the ownership or a part of the corporate leadership team reading this, I can be reached at the phone number that I left on my credit card receipt with my name inviting the “manager” to call me.
