Having visited Belgium many times, it is nice to see something like this in Texas and reminisce on the experiences ! We made the trip from Dallas for the weekend for my birthday and this was one of the main spots on my list that I was really excited about. They have an amazing selection of Belgian beers that are better than any local brewery in state! I have to lower my rating just a bit because the staff is mostly non attentive and a bit aloof. The older gentleman could not even locate my tab when I tried to pay and could not read his device display to see the names properly. The bartender friendliness and attentiveness is a bit different experience from my Europe travels but this is not Europe and hey it is what it is!

Morte Subite (although somehow my family calls it “the Belgian Bar”) is great but I want to concentrate on the food truck out back, called Austhentic (?). ITS GREAT. Its spanish food and how they put out so many different but great dishes from a size-limited food truck, I will never know. We had the ham sandwich, which was wonderful ham, a slight sliver of cheese, on very very very good bread that has been given the “tomato bread” treatment. Very tasty and at $10 a steal. Because its A Belgian Bar of course the Spanish food truck has belgian fries which were also great. Can’t wait to try the Paella! and just about everything else on the menu!

Cool concept and a nice European vibe, especially if you’re into Belgian-style beers. The drink list has good variety, and the space feels cozy and unique.
That said, it was a mixed experience. Prices were on the high side, and service was a bit slow once it got busy. Seating can feel tight, and it got pretty loud, which made it harder to relax.
Worth a visit for the beer selection and atmosphere, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

FANTASTIC selection. Extremely knowledgeable staff. If you don’t want the typical menu of 70% IPA’s and the same local breweries over and over again, I highly recommend this place.

Every time I visit from Chicago, I make it a point to come to this place. If you want something beyond the regular IPA or Pilsner, then this place is a must. Beer connoisseurs will be in heaven.

A fun place for Belgian beers and wine nestled in the heart of downtown. The beers are interesting and there’s plenty of seating with an outdoor area right near Congress for good people watching. The staff are friendly and helpful when picking out a beer.

MG the bartender was super nice and really inviting. Just from the get go, we loved the place because of her! The ambience is very authentic and Belgium like. Love the music and it’s very chill. Good AC and has a great Spanish food tuck in the back. Highly recommend

The beer is delicious, but a bit expensive. One was crazy expensive and only half a glass, which we had to get ourselves from the bar since we were outside. After tapping the card, you’re presented with a default 25% tip.
