Reviews
The ginger salad dressing was watered down, so I wouldn’t order that again. The tuna sashimi was cut very thick this time and the center of the piece was still frozen. The tonkatsu ramen was also noticeably saltier than usual.
We went on a Saturday night, and it’s normally packed and hard to get a table, but they weren’t as busy this time. I’m starting to think other locals may have noticed the same changes in quality?
The salmon truffle and hamachi carpaccio was still yummy, and the wagyu and salmon belly nigiri are still favorites of ours.
Customer service wasn’t as great this time either — we normally get the same older lady who’s nice, but we had someone new who seemed a bit impatient and didn’t check on us as often as we’re used to.
Usually I’d rate my experience a 9/10, but I would rate our most recent visit a 5/10.
Immediately was greeted as we walked in and staff guided us to our table.
Got the edamame and okonomyaki as appetizers. Had a 10-15 min wait on the okonomiyaki, and both were delicious and well worth the wait. I was surprised how savory it was, you don’t get that greasy mouth feel and the vegetables were crisp as well as the pieces of seafood and the right amount of seasoning and it was not too salty. Each bite was phenomenal.
Split the miso soup and oyako Don for our two toddlers. No kids meal, but the udon or donburo always seems like a safe bet the kids will enjoy.
The adults got the Sushi Sogo. OMG!
Fresh as can be!
Told our waitress how delicious the sushi was and she said they have a vendor that ships straight from Japan.
Yes, you’re paying a premium, but I recall my last trip to Japan being blown away by the freshness of sushi there. But this wins hands down the best meal I’ve had in a loooo g time.
Each piece was so carefully crafted and had so much umami and look at the attention to detail! Each Nigiri that had a small pea size topping had varying flavors and personality that played well with each bite. Some of the Sashimi had sweetness to it on top of the fatties and complimented by pickled ginger to cleanse your palate and fresh wasabi!
If the owners see this review and would like to point out the types of fish and the different toppings for each Nigiri, I’d love to learn exactly what was in it. But no worries, I will be back for sure!
Even this morning I told my wife how much of an impression the sushi had on me. Everything was spot on and our waitress had a busy busy night, but made every effort to make it a pleasant evening. Sushi Sogo was truly a work of art. My trip to Japan won’t be for awhile, but this team truly brought a piece of their culture here in Suwanee and have to admit some of the best sushi I’ve had in my life.
Will be back ! Thank you MoRi House for a memorable experience!
The wide selection of rolls, from fresh rolls to cooked/baked rolls, fits the different pallets my group had for sushi rolls and we were all able to enjoy the food.
Also recently visited and they were having their 22nd anniversary menu (congrats btw), and the Wagyu toast and Wagyu Misozuke were immaculate!!
Service was a bit slow, but it was busy inside so it is to be expected. Otherwise they were all nice and friendly
I’ve gone much before and the sushi was always on point! Fish is quality premium grade so there’s no fishy smell and it’s very fresh.
Hats off to the sushi chefs. Always a great experience at the sushi bar.
We ordered the pork gyoza (pan fried) and it was very good. We also ordered the Wagyu steak appetizer (4oz) and the waitress brought it out on a little blackstone and cooked it right in front of us, about medium-rare). It was delicious. We also ordered the Crazy Roll, the 101 Roll, and the Oceans 13 Roll. I wasn’t crazy about the oceans 13, the 101 roll seemed like it had too much cream cheese and not enough lobster, but the crazy roll was my favorite. Will definitely come back and try more options.
