I really want to love this place, but everything falls kinda flat.
The cocktails are boring and the bar ingredients are limited. The atmosphere and furniture feels dated and worn, but not in a way that complements the beautiful building. The service is kinda slow and tuned out. The lighting is bright. The bar is small, like 5 stools, but there are lounge seats.
I wish they would serve cocktails in their beautiful garden in the courtyard.

Great hidden gem! This is upstairs in the berkeley club and is open to the public. Not cheap but still reasonable prices given its a hotel bar ($15 martinis). Lots of comfy seats and friendly bar staff who gave us each our own chex mix 🙂

Berkeley’s best kept secret. Off the beaten path, you need to ring the bell to this one-time private club to get in. Now it’s a gem with amazing staff and even better drinks.
Kiera and Mark (pictured here) are so personable and make the most amazing drinks, all for a reasonable price. Definitely check this out if you’re in the area!
