A local chain of small Mexican restaurants providing a good selection of popular dishes, however, the prices are too high for the miniscule portions and average quality. The Sonoran hotdog, a popular style in Arizona, is good but not exceptional: there was a good amount of bacon and beans but the sauce is scarce and does not taste of jalapeños. The chili relleno with the recommended filling of carne asada was also just good. The carne asada itself is great with a smokey flavor and even sear, but the poblano chili is over-cooked and mush, and the fried breading is a bit sparse. The salsa verde and roja are nice but cannot overcome the chili texture. The tamales here were the best by far. They are large with lots of fatty meat filling, however, they are expensive. Finally, the horchata has a good creamy cinnamon flavor, but it is very sweet and the taste is less interesting compared to many others you can get across the city. The service is friendly and fast and they provide a self-service topping bar.

Edit..my 4th time here. I have got the Sonoran dogs the other 3 times, today I wanted Enchiladas. Oh my gosh, EXELLENT!! This is now my favorite place to eat. I dislike working in Chandler because I live up in Northeast Phoenix, but this makes it worth while. As long as work keeps routing me here, I will keep eating. Im bringing the Wife sometime during the weekend.
Absolutely amazing little restaurant. I love Senoran type hot dogs, and there’s very few places in Phoenix who have the.
Moreno does, and they were fantastic!! I wish I loved closer, this would be my new favorite place. Hopefully my work sends me to Chandler more often.
Thanks for a fantastic experience

My husband & I love this location. We are here often. Vanessa is always working when we come & she is amazing! The food is soooo good. Our favorite is the Vampiros tacos & the chips in queso is fire. Best champurrado we’ve ever had! We crave it.

Came here twice in the same day because it’s that good. Nice little restaurant with a hot dog stand outside. Cool atmosphere inside. The Tacos Toro are amazing – shrimp and fish, with tons of their white sauce (guacamole and cream base). Again, extremely tasty and at a very good price. Good fried ice cream as well.

The service was excellent and the carne asada torta was amazing.
The torta, fries and drink were $8 or $9 and so worth it.
The kids loved the chicken/bean/cheese burrito.
The chicken taco wasn’t that great; it was a bit dry and the seasoning had a lot of black pepper.
The salsa bar has the usual sauces plus cumber.
The AZ avenue location is the smallest of their restaurants, but it was cozy and welcoming.
They do not use lard, which is so great. And they stay open pretty late all week.
We will definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Typically we order from S. AZ Ave…. Accidentally placed order at the North AZ Ave location and it’s TRASH. The cheese looks like rubber, they forgot salad dressing for the salad, steak is like a hockey puck, and even the chips taste like gasoline. I will never make a mistake of ordering from that location again!

Amazing place for a good Mexican food, have tried cheese enchiladas, beans tostada, fries and fish tacos. All of them are phenomenal. Will recommend.

The service was outstanding, as was the fresh off the grill food. The Sonoran hot dog, salsas, and horchata were my favorites.

I’ve been here about 5 or 6 times. My friends and I are from Northern California and Moreno’s food is comparable. We’ve loved everything we’ve gotten from there. Had no issues with service or condiments. I’ll be there in the morning for some Menudo.

The customer service is sad. My son after work went to get some food there he ordered the Tapiquena plate which comes with Asada ( small piece ) rice, beans, and cheese enchilada. They forgot everything except the small piece of asada. So we called spoke to nice girl who acknowledged they forgot the food and said to come back next day since I wasn’t going to have my son drive all the way back. I was cool with it because things happen no biggie. My son went back and instead of replacing the whole plate they only replaced beans rice and the 1 cheese enchilada. So we are inconvinced given one small piece of meat and nothing else. The decide not to replace whole plate but instead only replace what was missed which were the sides the next day? We were inconvinced and nice about it and evendrove back the next day only to be given the sides??? Never coming back this place again. I should have stuck with Don Jose’s down the road.
