Morel truly exceeded expectations! I don’t know how it has been on my list for so long. Everything from the personable service, uniquely special ambience at the chef’s counter, and thoughtful menu was wonderful. If you are into a more savory garden cocktail, the Shiso-Crazy is so delicious and well balanced. The lamb carpaccio was exquisite and is not something I would typically order. I am so glad that I tried it. The pork shoulder was extremely tender and the mustard jus complimented it well. The Hangar Steak had a delicious blue cheese butter that provided just the right amount of richness and salt. The charcuterie was good, just not overly exciting…definitely branch out and go for the carpaccio! This is a special place, and if you have a special occasion, the Chef’s table is a very cool experience. It’s like watching a performance and a well oiled machine. Definitely one of the better fine dining options in Milwaukee!

First time visiting Milwaukee and was staying nearby – I picked this restaurant purely because of the name (I love me some Morel mushrooms). After a few minutes research, I walked over and the lovely host immediately sat me at the bar. The host was great to talk to, very friendly and welcoming, as were the bartenders. I usually have a bit of solo travel anxiety, but the atmosphere here was so warm and welcoming (and casual!). They took great care of me with recommendations, regularly making sure I had everything I wanted, all without being too overbearing. It was the perfect experience for the solo diner wanting an elevated meal. The cocktails were great, the food was outstanding, I can’t recommend this place enough!

The service was great but the food did take a rather long time. We waited 50 minutes until our charcuterie board was brought out.
The board featured a delicious beef pastrami with perfectly baked bread. The jams they served with it were not very good. One was a lemon licorice flavor that was intolerable. The other was a sickly sweet apple butter.
Chef’s choice Charcuterie board 6.5/10

The entries were delicious and aesthetically pleasing. I highly recommend the duck confit served on a bed of polenta. I found the use of duckweed as a garnish amousing with a compatible texture.
Duck confit entre 8.1/10
The rum ice cream cookie sandwich was overly boozy and the cookie was over baked to the point of being burnt. 4.0/10
The chorizo pulled pork entre is fantastic. The sweet corn and salsa Verde paired perfectly with the smokey pulled pork and peppery chorizo. The dish could have used a bit more mashed potatoes.
Chorizo pulled pork entre 9.2/10

Overall, I plan on giving the restaurant another chance to try out other entries, but I did not think the initial experience was worth the high price tag.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Milwaukee in a long time! It was hard to decide what to get because so many entrees looked good. Carson was a great server 🙂 We will be back!

My experience at this location was truly first class. While the wait for our reservation was a bit longer than expected, the quality of the dining experience made it worthwhile. The food here is exceptional, as it is sourced entirely from local farms and butchered on site. Each dish is prepared with great care, highlighting the freshness of the ingredients. The attention to detail in both the food preparation and presentation really sets this place apart.

Classy and welcoming farm-to-table restaurant with a delicious menu. Our server really was excellent and was invested in us having a great time. I shared the rabbit starter and had the pork belly entree. Both excellent! Highly recommended and would return when back in town!

We had our anniversary dinner at Morel last weekend and it was a fantastic experience start to finish. Our server Derrick (sorry if I misspelled his name) was the perfect mix of being attentive but unintrusive. He made excellent suggestions which we really enjoyed and really made our night amazing. The food was delicious and inventive we loved every course (I personally highly recommend the Hanger steak, the steak was amazing and they turned fries from the typical add on to fill the plate/diner into something that was really great. All around an amazing experience!

Morel has been on my must try list for awhile and I’m so glad I was able to get there this trip. The pork shoulder was excellent, literally melted in your mouth it was so tender. The portion is also fairly large. Definitely try the spritz (the strawberry rhubarb makes it taste like summer in a glass)!

Morel is one of the best restaurants in Milwaukee. Starting with the service, all the workers have smiles, and are in a good mood. You know why the staff is in such a good mood? It is because they know you are going to love the food and the experience. Everything on the menu is a winner, but the morel mushroom fricasse in spring is their signature dish. The name of the place is Morel. I would order whatever is in season, but go in mid/ late Spring. Standouts for me were the beef cheek, any salad, pork belly, and the walleye.

Loved the cozy and unpretentious vibe with exceptional food. Season and local flavors are featured beautifully. We had 2 appetizers and a main and will be back to try other menu items! Morel is a MKE dining gem must!
