It’s our first time here and Bri made it easy and comfortable for us. She was very nice and very approachable. The Food was awesome and sooo good especially the crust. The pizza was thin and yet so crunchy, it was made for perfection. the garlic knots and meatballs were really delicious ,it can be a meal already. Best customer service and will definitely come back because the food was worth eating.

Some friends recommended Mootz Pizzeria, so we made the trip downtown this past Sunday. Very glad we did. We live close enough where it made sense to Uber and not need to worry about parking. When we arrived the front desk said it would be a 35 – 45 minute wait (around 3:00 on a Sunday). We looked online and made reservation. Walked back in and was seated right then. Would definitely recommend doing this! Sat us at a table that was comfortable seating for four. Kendra S was our server and she was great! We started with an order of drinks and Garlic Knots. Wow, these things are amazing and I could have made a meal of just those (but I’m glad I didn’t). We then each ordered a pizza. We had a Holy Cheesus, Beast of Burden, Juliet, and an Uptown. Everyone was happy and we shared slices. The couple of slices we couldn’t finish there we took home. I was going to have for breakfast but they didn’t make it till the morning. Be sure to try some of the hot honey. First time but not last time to Mootz.

It’s rare that I give five stars but everything from the salad to my espresso martini to my cajun pasta was absolutely amazing. I have no complaints at all. I left with a stomach ache because I ate everything. Thank you guys and keep it up.

Located in front of the hopping Belt Alley, Mootz is the ideal casual pizza joint serving New York style pizza with old school Italian vibes. The bee sting is pretty spicy but delicious, love the thinner crust of their pizza. The garlic knots were a good starter- not sure if they’re anything special that I would order again, but the marinara sauce that comes with them is SO good! The best part of the meal was the vodka pasta- that sauce was incredible and the penne was cooked to al dente perfection! The bar staff was friendly and quickly made a clean area for us even during their busy rush. There was a bit of a hiccup with the knots coming out with our food but the manager was very kind and said she was taking them off our bill. It was not expected but a very thoughtful gesture! Great food and drinks, fun atmosphere, and excellent service!

Very cool vibe. Came in on a cold Tuesday evening and they were working – not packed but not slow – and everyone was super friendly. Service was prompt and the food was great. For my plant-based friends we ordered the vegan pie and it was great, easy 5 star recommendation.
We ordered a few drinks and they were excellent – I recommend the Stormy Mootz if you’re a mule person.
Also worth noting, the giant picture of the guy above the bar is NOT Mootz, I think they said it was the grandfather of one of the owners but he definitely looks like a Mootz so it fits.
All around excellent spot, easy recommendation.

Mootz Pizzeria absolutely lives up to the hype. The garlic knots were fantastic, perfectly soft, buttery, and packed with flavor. And the Bee Sting New York, style pizza was incredible. a flawless balance of sweet heat, crisp crust, and high quality toppings that really sets it apart.
On top of the food, the atmosphere is great lively, welcoming, and exactly what you want from a downtown Detroit pizza spot. Whether you’re grabbing a slice or sitting down for a full meal, Mootz Pizzeria + Bar delivers on all fronts.

Came down town for the farmers market and had a reservation for lunch here. We came a little earlier and they sat us right away. Great atmosphere. The food was great they were understanding of the toddler we had with us after we were close enough to go look at the Christmas tree and skating rink

We also shared the Gemelli pasta, which was rich, comforting, and packed with flavor from the sausage and greens. Portions were generous and great for sharing.
