I think this is more of a bar than a restaurant but since my girlfriend and I don’t drink, I can only rate it as a restaurant. The atmosphere was great. The service was decent, and the food was good, but certainly not the best.
We both got burgers, which didn’t taste like fresh beef, more like frozen patties… I was not a fan of the type of buns they use, but having good beef and an appropriate amount of toppings on the burgers would have certainly made up for that. The price of the burgers did not reflect the taste. I’m thinking they should have been quite a bit less.
I would say it’s by far not the best burger place in Trinidad, but if you want a bar with a great atmosphere, then this might be the place for you.

Passing through on an overnight in Trinidad and found this place. Great mountain bar atmosphere and great owner who was very knowledgeable about the local area. I had the steak over wedge salad and it was fresh and tasty and my husband had the steak fajitas. Highly recommend for an enjoyable evening out in Trinidad.

This place is an absolute gem and whoever purchases this business will be so very lucky ! We went around 2pm and it wasn’t busy at all. The wait staff was friendly and the pizza was amazing ! The decor is awesome to look at and lots of historical references are everywhere inside. Loved this place and highly recommend it when visiting Trinidad.

Editing comments based on business response. Maybe updating the menu on-line would help, didn’t know I needed to ask for prices upfront. I guess $20 for the pizza is average but $13 for a slice of pie, seems a bit on the high side.
We were passing through Trinidad and ordered a pizza and 2 slices of pie to go. Couldn’t see prices on-line very well but when we showed up the lady was really friendly. That was the best part. She said the total was $51, I thought wow for a 12″ peperoni and 2 pieces of pie. I should have second guessed it as no bill was written or provided. We paid and left. I figured I would look better at the menu when we got back to the hotel. Pizza was $17 on a photo of the menu and other deserts were $9. So no way it came to $51. The terrible thing is the pizza was terrible. Didn’t even eat it. I usually go with my gut and I feel the price was because we weren’t local. I hope that wasn’t the case. I hate that we paid in cash as I would have disputed the charge immediately.

We really have enjoyed this bar. The owners Howard and Nancy are wonderful people. We visited with them on several occasions. The beer is cold, the atmosphere is chill, and the pizza is SO GOOD! We really enjoy a down home place to get the history in a town and this is a wonderful place to hangout and get great information.

While in Trinity Colorado we stopped by here for a bite to eat. I have to say the food is really good. The meat is very moist and flavorful. They do not have French fries however, they do serve their plates w/ plain Lay’s potato chips and it does compliment the food. Plus it’s less grease! The pickles they serve are kosher and normally I prefer dill but these pickles are really good, they are sweet and spicy which also compliments the meat. I did not care for the green chile that came with the plate as it was not hot and seemed to have been pickled. The atmosphere is chill the are also a bar so they have a big screen tv they play the games on so you can watch as you eat. The decor has a real cabin feel, the real eye catcher is a mounted mouse head they have up on their wall..it is absolutely beautiful. They also have mounted elk skulls throughout the restaurant. Another thing that really caught my eye was the embossed copper ceiling tiles, those were beautiful as well. The restaurant isn’t very big maybe about 10-15 tables but we did receive great service, everyone was very nice and welcoming and cost was not bad. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars however, it was very cold inside as they leave the door chained open. People that are not used to the Colorado weather may not eat comfortably due to the temperature. We had to keep our jackets on the whole time. I think they need to consider not everyone likes this and allow the door to be shut. They do also have tables outside which in the summer would be wonderful to eat out on. I will say I would return because the food and service is very good and I would recommend you try if you have not. Take your jackets if you visit in the winter! If you’ve read my review please hit the like button. Thank you.

Best food in town. I’ve been through Trinidad many times but decided to stop for dinner and a drink. Authentic, homey atmosphere, friendly bartender, and GREAT food. The brisket sandwich was amazing. I hate beans–I think they taste like dirt. But I tried their beans, and wow. I may have to change my lifelong opinion. Whoever buys this place better keep the authenticity.

Dropping this review to a one simply because of the owners’ response to my first post, very rude. As a business owner I think you should be able to take constructive criticism. My friends and I actually had a decent time here, the food was just not great. However, as someone who loves exploring new places and towns, i would not come to this establishment simply based on how the business owner speaks to those who may not have liked their food. To clarify: The owner herself said “I like to set expectations from the beginning, our pizzas take 25 minutes would you like a snack while you wait?” Had we already ordered a beer? Yes. Had we already ordered our food? Yes. Did I mind paying for $2 chips and salsa, absolutely not. If you’re in town, seek another establishment, I’ve never seen someone speak to others in the comments the way this owner does, it’s incredibly rude and unprofessional.
Original: Let me start by saying the staff at this restaurant were very welcoming and conversational. The prices are fair, not too high. A local recommended this place while I was visiting. However, their food is not as great as I was hoping. From some of the pictures, the pizzas appear to be woodfired, but let me clear that up now, they’re not. Nothing wrong with an oven baked pizza, but the flavors at this restaurant are something you could make at home. Honestly, you’d get better pizza at Dominos. The pizzas were topped with sliced mozzarella it appeared and were very lack luster. We were offered and charged for chips and salsa because the pizzas take 25minutes. This all being said, they do allow for you to choose any amount of toppings you’d like with no additional charge. But, at $17 for a 12in and $10 for a 7in I expected way higher quality. Beer was around $5. Chips and salsa $2, from a jar. Overall, I might come back here for the conversation and drinks, but wouldn’t recommend their food.
