Nice start to the day at **Moose Cafe**!
Let’s start with the biscuits and apple butter… I should say, **Awwwsome!** The biscuits were soft, fresh, and perfectly baked, and that apple butter just melted right in. Add a hot cup of coffee, and it was the perfect combination to kick off the morning.

I ordered the veggie omelet, which was cooked just right and full of flavor. It came with biscuits and gravy, and the waitress even brought me gravy without me having to ask — now that’s great service! It’s the little things like that that really make a difference. The breakfast also came with hashbrown casserole, and honestly, it was the best — crispy on the outside, warm and comforting on the inside.

We also ordered fried chicken with eggs and grits. Everything was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. You can really taste the quality in every bite.

On top of all that, the pricing is great for the amount and quality of food you get. I’m not a local, but I would definitely recommend **Moose Cafe** to anyone wanting to try true Southern quality food. It’s definitely a place to go!

Absolutely amazing!!
Atmosphere is truly perfect for being up in the mountains and the small locally sold country items of jams and jellies.
If its an early Saturday morning they are super slammed but usually only a 10 minute wait.
Server was an older lady that seemed stressed but turned out to be fantastic as well and got drinks and food out very speedy!
Never had to ask for a refill.
We all got the all you can eat breakfast and definitely add the $.99 pancake that’s the size of the whole plate!
Food is so fresh and tasty!
The cat head biscuits are amazing and for sure get some apple butter to spread on those biscuits!
The kids always love the 8′ tall moose so be ready for some pictures!
We drive up monthly just to eat here and see the mountains and then stop by Biltmore for a quick walk around.
Dinner is amazing and just as busy as well!!
Hamburger steak has so much flavor but could be a little bit flatter and bigger.
Love the Moose Cafe anytime of the day!!

Southern home cooking. Drinks from a mason jar, meat and 3. Daily specials. The fish was cooked to perfection. Melted in my mouth. Reasonably priced. Walked away full and taking home 2 original works of art that are on the walls in the dining room.

We stopped here for breakfast on the way out of town. The restaurant was absolutely packed, but we didn’t wait long at all. The server brought over biscuits and homemade Apple butter, which were out of this world, and complimentary!! The Apple butter was like nothing I had ever had before. We wanted to buy a jar on the way out, but it was sold out!! I can totally understand why! We both ordered the Biltmore breakfast, which came with the blueberry moose cake. (Pictured) That pancake was a breakfast in itself, and just filled with blueberries. The rest of our breakfast was cooked perfectly, and we were shocked at how quickly it came out with how busy the restaurant was. There is a small gift shop with T-shirts, jams/jellies, and some adorable stuffed animals. We will have to go back, if only for the Apple Butter! It was a perfect way to end our visit to Asheville.

Having dinner on New Year’s Day offers more crowds, but the waiting was not bad at all. Tables were constantly opening. Because of the crowds, today was not conducive to hanging out when you were done eating. Staff was always polite, efficient & helpful.
The New Year’s Day special was excellent. I learned that I actually like foods that I never did before-all in the preparation, I’m sure. Oh, and there is no reason to ask, “where’s the beef?” here. It is easily found in the burger.
We would definitely return.

I really enjoyed the meals I have had the last few days at moose Cafe. The chili was surprisingly good but the chicken and dumplings was not. The biscuits here are the star of the show I have yet to find a better biscuit in Carolina. If you are a fan of sweet collard greens, they’ve got you covered, I am not a fan of sweet collard greens. Spiced apples were particularly good and the coffee was great.
I wanted to take time to mention that the wait staff here are incredible, they know their menus and are very pleasant people and genuinely want to help you get fed

We came for Thanksgiving dinner. It was very good. The wait was long but average for Thanksgiving. They have a nice little gift shop while you’re waiting to be seated. The food came out very quickly and was delicious! My favorites were the turkey with dressing and gravy, and the biscuits with apple butter.

Oh, good gravy! How delicious! I can’t even show you a photo of the biscuits and apple butter you get when you are seated because we gobbled them up so fast! I couldn’t decide between chicken and dumplings and the NC trout. Then, guess what?! I discovered I could have both! Ordered the trout and had the dumplings as a side! What?! That trout was melt in your mouth! The service was great! Chef’s kiss!

We were driving through this area and asked the internet where to eat. The Moose was the first reply! So, here we are!

We are so glad this was recommended.

It’s very homey inside and they make you feel very welcome. I love that it’s family owned and local.

We were right at the cutoff for breakfast and they still let us order anyway which was awesome.

The food came out quickly and wow, huge portions!

The food was not only plentiful, but delicious!!

Had we known it was so huge, we wouldn’t have ordered so much. But it was all so yummy. We were fat and happy when we left.

Love it!
