I visited this restaurant which was pet friendly on the outside. I had high hopes having read about this quality.
Was really disappointed in the food, the wine was okay along with the service initially.
I ordered the chicken satay appetizer, the chicken was okay but the peanut sauce was not.
The duck really did not have a semblance of freshness and the red curry was just okay.
Disappointed and will not be back.
On a sidenote, the white couch that’s on the wall needs to be cleaned DESPERATELY. It looks really dingy now and that was one of the highlights of the decorum in the restaurant.
Would recommend going for happy hour prices. The evening prices for drinks more than doubles.
Food has always been good. Kind of feel like it is a bit pricy, but not a lot to compare it to . It was a hundred dollars for two people, with only one drink each.
If you are local you should check it out!
Honestly, with the tinted doors and lighting inside, it felt more like a nightclub then a restaurant. The vibe was a little strange and really it felt like a nightclub trying to be a restaurant. The booths were super large, they could easily fit 6 people, and with only 2 of us at the table we had plenty of room.
Our waitress, Noona was really nice. She greeted us in a timely fashion, didn’t take too long getting our drinks and didn’t linger. She engaged in, what I feel like, is the appropriate amount of conversation and but didn’t try to rush through us to get to another table. She seemed really good with time management.
My husband tried their Sake Mojito and I got a glass of their Red Sangria. I’ve had a lot of really bad sangria so I always get a little worried when I order a glass. Its so often that people have awful Sangria. But this glass was absolutely great. Great flavor, not overly sweet and none of that terrible tannin aftertaste that some cheep sangria will give you. Good portion for the cost too, overall good buy. I didn’t try the Sake Mojito, but he says it was good, but not great. Kinda small for the $11 they charge for it.
For apps, we got the fried calamari and the crab wantons. We really liked the fried calamari, wasn’t tough and it was fried well. Kinda weird that they served it with a lime wedge instead of a lemon. But the flavor of the lime did work well with the sweet chili sauce that dish was served with. The batter could have used some seasoning; it was bland when eaten without the sauce/lime. The wantons were small and its kind of difficult to say if they were good or not, there was hardly any filling in them. They kind of reminded me of what you’d get from your local Chinese buffet; not really worth it.
For our entrees I ordered the Pad Thai and my husband got the Grilled Mahi Mahi, both of which are pictured below. Huge portion size for the Pad Thai, especially considering that the dish also came with a side of rice. The description of the Pad Thai said it had bean sprouts, mixed veggies and egg in it, I didn’t see many bean sprouts and there could have been more egg in it. More of a variety of veggie in the Pad Thai would have been appreciated; the only veggies I had were green onions and white onions. It was good, but not too sure if I would order it again. The Grilled Mahi Mahi was swimming in the sauce and, according to my husband as I did not try it, said the fish was bland and needed the sauce to give it some flavor. It was cooked to the ordered temperature of medium but was just a little lack luster in flavor. The platting was nice for both dishes.
Overall, not a bad place. A little on the pricey side considering what you’re ordering. Kind of feels like you’re more so paying for the environment instead of the food. Bathroom was well hidden. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend this place to someone, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to avoid it either.
