Too pricey for no reason. I got a single scoop of dark chocolate in a cup with hot fudge—nearly $8. They charged me $1.50 just because it was dark chocolate and then an additional $1.50 for a one pump of hot fudge. when I asked why the ice cream flavor was more expensive I was told because it had more cacao in it. Rip off. I’ll stick to La Flor Micohana.

Great little spot inside a large establishment that houses many small food stores and a bar. The ice cream was great, really creamy, and a decent price. Waffle cone tasted very fresh. We walked around and there was a diverse selection of food and drink. Parking outside and the first hour is free. Would go again!

Stopped in for an after dinner ice cream treat and got a cookies & cream sundae. Ice cream was as great as always and the hot fudge on it was really tasty. Service from the cashier was decent, but the nasty look on the face (and attitude to match) of the lady making and giving out the ice cream definitely wasn’t necessary. They were moderately busy, but took care of reducing the line rather nicely.

This place caught our eye on a road trip. I’m glad we stopped because it was great!! They have a walk-up window and a drive-through, along with plenty of outdoor picnic tables that are covered for seating. The ice cream was reasonably priced and very fresh. Excellent & fast service

I made a review on their Dairy Market location – check there for a more thorough review, but here’s a review for the Moo Thru itself. They offer great-tasting ice cream, scoops, sundaes, milkshakes and more. It’s a C’ville gem and used to only be really far away, but now they have it right in the new Dairy Market. They also allow you to get a scoop of their ice cream and pair it with the coffee at the kiosk next door, Eleva. Eleva adds a $3 shot of espresso to your scoop, and the espresso is pretty strong (you pay for the espresso at Eleva separately).
If you’re new to Charlottesville, definitely stop on by to get the experience. They’re very generous with the portion sizes (particularly for the Sundaes). Pics below.

WOW! Amazing ice cream. Super creamy, a little heavy but really good. Full toppings bar you can use too. Cup or cone, whatever suits your fancy. Milkshakes and floats too! A single scoop is really all you need. 10/10 recommend!

If I could leave zero stars for my experience tonight, I would. We arrived at 9:50, tired children in tow – who I promised ice cream to. When we walked up to the counter, one girl was mopping and one girl was carrying ice cream to the back. I stood there and waited patiently when they approached annoyed. They were rude and told me they always close 10 minutes early so they can go home at 10 PM. What a shame. They turned away another customer behind me.
