Had a fantastic lunch at Madrez Cafe. If you’re looking for something different, their savory waffles are excellent perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, made with fresh, quality ingredients.
Great location, affordable prices, and outstanding service. The staff is very polite, attentive, and mindful of every detail. Highly recommended for a unique and satisfying meal.

I love finding unexpected gems while traveling. This place is phenomenal and worth a detour for. The atmosphere was very cozy and inviting. Service was as prompt and pleasant as could be. The worst part about my experience is sadly I could only eat one dish. Everything about my chorizo skillet plate was absolutely perfect and I savored every bite. I hope to travel this way again.

So I got the bacon Smashburger for the second time. Overall the flavor is good I mean typical kind of burger but the Cucumber spread is not what you would think and I will upload a picture so you can see it is technically like cucumbers and they’re sliced. Not like a salsa type thing. But overall I would most likely give it a 3.5 if I could simply do to the fact that the Cucumber spread wasn’t necessarily like a spread it was more of like just pickled cucumbers that were layered on to the Burger should have been more of a relish style I feel and also the cheese really was disappointing considering the fact we live in wisconsin. Invest into a block of cheese I feel and just doing nice slice of cheese to melt down on the burger not some shredded cheese out of a bag that you can tell because it has potato starch on it and doesn’t melt very well. Huge shout out for the amount of bacon though and the quality of the bacon. Not a lot of restaurants do that and I feel it’s either always overcooked or undercooked and super fatty they did a phenomenal job on their bacon. And the bun was a really great size as well. And held up on like durability. For real though you guys need more cheese. We live in Wisconsin please add more cheese that’s all I care about lol.
Also, no I’m not some prick that just likes to nitpick restaurants food. I picked my order up late and had to unfortunately warm my burger up due to my own lack of timing. And while I was taken apart my burger I happen to notice these things. Would have noticed them when I ate it if I did pick it up on time but makes it a little easier to show everybody else taking it apart.

We decided to stop here on our way home. We are so glad we did! We had the lattes and bakery on the back deck. The inside was cozy but I was a little disappointed with the multiple skeleton photos. I enjoy happy atmospheres more. The lemon bar and scone were delicious. I’m a little bit of a coffee snob and they passed with high grades for their delicious lattes. The prices were not elevated either. I highly recommend this place if your in the area.

Updated 3-2-26. OMG this place is the best in Elkhorn! Every time I gobthe food gets even better. Ham and cheese croissant was unbelievable. See new pics.
Liv was an excellent server, David was also very helpful and friendly. Excellent food! Try the waffles or tortas. Much different than the norms. Service is always excellent. Neat environment for a coffee, tea, or breakfast/lunch. They also do private parties. Everyone was super pleasant. Be patient when it’s busy as pretty much everything is made fresh or from scratch, but is worth the wait!

Madrez Cafe has been a wonderful addition to our community. Breakfast joints aren’t difficult to find in Walworth County, but one that does something different and still approachable is. Manny, Duncan and the whole staff provide a dining experience worth leaving your house for, even in the cold of winter.

If you’re looking for the best cinnamon roll in town, look no further! The frosting was heavenly, the roll was soft and moist, and every bite melted in my mouth. Absolutely perfect! I also tried the chilaquiles, and they did not disappoint—crispy, saucy, and packed with flavor. The portion size was great, and the ingredients were fresh. The breakfast burrito was grilled and oh so good! The staff was welcoming, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I can’t wait to come back for more! ***Bring back the cinnamon roll!

This is how I want every Saturday to go. Every bite was delicious, and the potato salad omg. Brisket Tacos, Pepperoni Burger with garlic mayo and avocado, and an awesome spin on a Cuban. If you haven’t tried yet… you are missing out!! Last but not least is the excellent customer service.
