After visiting Italy last year, Montesacro Pinseria feels like the next best thing when it comes to food. We’ve celebrated special occasions here, including Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day, and most recently, our anniversary. The food is crafted with remarkable quality, capturing the true essence of Italian cuisine without the heavy processing. This place has become our favorite, evoking memories of the delightful meals we enjoyed in Italy. The staff is incredibly friendly, and one of the owners consistently provides outstanding service. I’ll keep recommending this gem, hoping they maintain their genuine Italian spirit.

Had an amazing Valentines lunch here today. Anthony was our server (I think he’s also the manager?!) and he kept checking on us at all the right moments.

The bread came out super warm and had the best toasty layer without being tough.

The porchetta sandwich was definitely the highlight of the meal, the bread was a pizza dough with a great crust. The bucatini pasta was perfectly so dente as well with plenty of sauce, portions were solid!

The pizza was fine, not my favorite Italian style pizza but still had a really great flavor and crisp. My husband had two glasses of wine and thoroughly enjoyed both.

The music and vibe were just right as well. We’ll definitely be back soon and highly recommend this restaurant!

Absolutely loved the food and atmosphere at Montesacro Pinseria! Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked and incredibly juicy, and the appetizers especially the roasted cauliflower and crispy bites—were delicious and unique. The bread with olive oil was fresh and fragrant, and paired so well with a glass of rosé.

Service was friendly and the vibe was cozy yet modern—perfect for a relaxing dinner. Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Walnut Creek. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, great wine, and a great evening out!

Love this place so much! The ambience is warm, cozy, and just feels special the second you walk in. The food is absolutely delicious. My favorite is the margherita pizza and the polpo, but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything you order here. Perfect for a girls night, date night, or even dinner with the kids.

But truly… I come for Emily. She is my favorite bartender and makes the best pistachio espresso martini I have ever had. It’s smooth, rich, not too sweet and that pistachio cream on the rim is dangerous. Sit at the bar, ask for Emily, and order it. You can thank me later

Tried this place based on Google reviews. The place did not disappoint. We went on Friday night. Got our table quickly. Outside ambiance with heaters was excellent. Loved the house made bread and buratta. The service was attentive and genuinely welcoming. Our host was highly knowledgeable of the food origin, ingredients and gave good suggestions for appetizers and main course food. The pizza, pasta , lamb chops and drinks, loved everything that we tried. Pizza can be shared between two people. Serving portions were not too small or big either. Buratta was only one slice though. House bread can be shared between few. Highly recommend this place for flavorful Italian/Roman cuisine.

New favorite date place! Pinsa’s have complex crust that’s interesting in its own right with simple, fresh toppings that don’t upstage the cheese. The fish is my favorite—surprisingly delicious combination of flavors. That’s the theme of every dish I’ve tried here. It starts out unusual and I wonder if I’m going to really like it, and by the end I’m tasting things I haven’t noticed before. We had a saffron custard dessert with fresh herbs and raspberry coulis—I would never usually order a saffron dessert, but with fresh mint leaves it was incredible! Come here when you’re in the mood for a delicious surprise.

Hello! This was my first time trying the Margherita pizza and panna cotta, and overall it was a very pleasant experience.

I really enjoyed the panna cotta. It was rich and creamy with great flavor, and I appreciated that it wasn’t overly sweet, which made it feel balanced and well made. That said, the portion felt quite small for the price, which was a bit disappointing given how good it was.

The Margherita pizza was also very good. The flavors were fresh and classic, and the quality of the ingredients really came through. I just wish the crust was a little crispier on the bottom, but overall it was still very enjoyable.

This was a pickup order, and that part of the experience was excellent. The person who helped me was super friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which I really appreciated. The space itself is beautiful inside—clean, inviting, and thoughtfully designed

When we arrived around 1 PM, the place was very busy inside and out. The staff approached us immediately and seated us right away where we wanted to sit. We sat outside. Clean, pleasant, and places in the sun and in the shade. I ordered a spritz which was delicious and refreshing. We shared the fettuccine with mushrooms, chili, and garlic. And the vegetarian pizza.
The pasta was perfectly cooked and tasted very fresh. The mushrooms were delicious, but we couldn’t taste much garlic or chili. The pizza crust was delicious.! Tender and chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The toppings were onion, red pepper, mushroom, basil, and olives. Unfortunately, it was watery and made the center of the pizza a little soft. But we ate it all because it was still delicious despite falling a little short of our expectation.
The server was very pleasant and helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here and would recommend it to others. The next time we come, I will order a different pizza.
I tried to capture some of the beautiful mural art on Locust.

Atmosphere and service were really nice! They even moved a heater to our table outside. However, the food portions were on the smaller side and either over or under seasoned. Was expecting a bit better given the ratings,
