At montanitas our desire is to introduce our customers the traditional cuisines of Ecuador, and a little bit of Mexican. For example one of our main known dishes to eat in Ecuador are the soups which are, encebollados (which have a flavorful taste of fish )ceviches, and caldo de gallina. Which are all served with rice and fried plantains. All have different rich flavors of yuca, onions, cilantro, and etc.. we also serve hornados, guatitas, and chaulafan. In the mood for seafood? We serve high quality seafood that is fresh for our guest. like, shrimp, clams, octopus, salmon, red snapper. Drinks available in bar to your desire. We provide a very high customer service which makes customers feel warm and welcomed in our establishment.

First time at Montanita Puerto de Cancun Restaurant in Middletown, CT, and it did not disappoint! The food was fresh, delicious, and felt truly authentic. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly — you can feel the warm, welcoming vibes right away.

Oscar was super attentive, kind, and even walked us to the door at the end of our meal. Excellent service all around. I’ll definitely be coming back here!

I stopped here with my family for dinner today and we were really glad we did. We started with the nachos for the kids, and my wife and I both ordered the carne asada, everything was excellent. The portions were generous, the food came out hot and fresh, and the carne asada was cooked exactly how it should be.

One thing to note is the service style is a little different than a typical restaurant. It honestly feels more like eating at a friend’s house, relaxed, personal, and welcoming. If you go in with that expectation, you’ll enjoy it even more.

We had a great experience, and we can’t wait to go back. This is definitely going to become one of our regular dinner spots.

First time to order from here. i ordered take out. I ordered fajitas, soup and a ceaser salad.
Fajita: too much sauce, very salty
Soup: the brooth was ok. They put a whole chicken wing when i was expecting pieces of chicken. I wasnt accustomed to a hard boiled egg in the soup neither. (Maybe this was traditional)
Ceaser salad: it was a good ceaser salad

I most likely wont be ordering in the future.

So happy to see more Latin influence in Middletown! The menu features a delicious blend of Ecuadorian, Colombian, and a touch of Mexican flavors. The staple Ecuadorian ají (hot sauce) was absolutely to die for . I could honestly take home a whole jar of it. The red snapper was incredibly fresh and cooked perfectly. Our margaritas had fresh lime juice not those sugary premixes. To top it off, the owner generously gifted us Ecuadorian beer Pilsener for dessert, which was such a sweet gesture.

I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes from the menu, though I do wish they offered ceviche. I would also suggest the owner consider building a stronger online presence and maybe hosting a Sunday brunch or buffet with a Latin DJ, it’s such a popular draw these days. Can’t wait to be back soon!

The food was great, the ownership and service is great! We had 6 people and everyone loved their food. Give them a shot, it’s a crime that it’s Friday night and the food was this good and it wasn’t packed. Authentic food!

Went for the first time, the place is still pretty new to Middletown but the food was amazing and worth the wait. All authentic ecuadorian cuisine they also have mexican options on the menu which is a plus. Would definitely recommend this spot .

Where should I start. I ordered the steak fajitas dinner, they brought it out I tasted was ok little salty though. I waited a while for the rest of the ingredients then when the girl came back I asked doesn’t this come with lettuce tomatoes guacamole It Was Written right there on the menu then the older gentleman showed up and said yes where is the rest of the order you supposed to bring it together she said oh we don’t have guacamole she should have said it when she brought the food out but nothing does take portion was very small. At that point I was like it’s been over 10 minutes I don’t even want it anymore I just ate the food . Then my boyfriend ordered the white rice beans and the pork chops it was more like a center-cut pork chop nothing special only one very thin it tasted okay butter Rice was too cold we asked her if they can put it in the microwave or something to look at she said they don’t have a microwave so they put it in the oven back for us to warm it up after we were done eating we sat there talking they came how was everything I might go out we weren’t very happy just okay they walked away we waited and waited ask the girl for our bill then waited and waited some more and then she came by again and I was like can we get our bill please we need to leave oh I forgot to mention that I did get the appetizer garlic shrimp that was pretty good but it cost $16 for six little shrimp we wanted to try something new we saw this place we said let’s give it a try I am not from Middletown so I don’t know if this place has been there for a while or is just getting started. the atmosphere was nice but I think what we pay for we should have gotten some kind of credit. The girl was sweet but I think they need more training.
