One of the best dining experiences we had in Waikiki. Perfect morning, we were seated in the corner with views of Diamond Head. The ocean shore was beautiful. Food was spectacular and everything we ordered had great flavors. The Benedicts are all awesome. Hollendaise sauce was buttery and silky. Perfect balance with notes of lemon. Desert pies were pure perfection. Definitely get Monkeypod on your list when visiting Waikiki

From the moment we arrived, the experience was wonderful. The hostesses were incredibly kind and attentive. Although we had a reservation, we did have a short wait since I requested a table by the ocean, but it was absolutely worth it.

Once seated, Maca took excellent care of us and made the experience even more enjoyable with thoughtful, friendly service.

The food was delicious across the board. The mushroom pizza was a standout and quickly became a favorite, and the macadamia nut–crusted fish was perfectly cooked and flavorful. For dessert, we tried both the strawberry cream pie and the banana cream pie. They were rich, indulgent, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet.

A beautiful setting, great service, and consistently excellent food. We’ll definitely be back.

The Vibe & Location:
Located on the first floor of the Outrigger Reef, this spot has a fantastic atmosphere.
The View: The restaurant offers an ocean view that is hard to beat—perfect for a sunset dinner.
Atmosphere: It has a really nice vibe, likely due to the open-air setting and live music.
The Food:
We ordered items to share, which is the best way to do it here.
Pizza: The pizza is excellent (hand-tossed and cooked perfectly).
Tacos: We also enjoyed their tacos (likely the fish or bulgogi pork ones). Both were great for shareable dining.
Service:
Staff: Our server was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better.
Reservations: Reservation is required (or highly recommended) as it gets very busy.
Logistics (Parking):
Valet Only: Be aware that the hotel is valet only.
Validation: They do validate your parking ticket at the restaurant, so bring it with you.
Verdict:
A top-tier spot in Waikiki. Great food, stunning views, and worth the valet fee.

A must visit if you’re staying in Waikiki. The food and drinks here are delicious. This is their second location (other is at Ko’olina) and it did not disappoint. I’d highly recommend making a reservation as they are usually packed and busy. The wait could be up to over an hour
The Monkeypod Mai Tai is bomb!!! The Lilikoi foam on top is so delicious and combined it’s an excellent cocktail. I know why it’s their signature.
The food was delicious. Came out fresh and hot and tasted amazing.
The service was great, there is a ton of staff working and walking around so if you need anything, there is always someone to answer a question or get you what you need.
The space is bright, vibrant, airy, and clean. The bathrooms are outside the restaurant next to the hotel elevators just outside the restaurant.

We sat at the bar and the service was super grumpy/unfriendly and inattentive (we had to flag him down for to order, to ask for napkins and cutlery, to ask for ketchup, to ask for water refills, and for the check). Bad service!

The food came out cold. Not just room temp, but actually cold and chewy/rubbery like it had been sitting out for a while.

The atmosphere is great. Very nice view of the ocean. It’s pretty clean (clean table/bar, but kind of smelled like old cocktails).

Everything about this place was amazing. If you are in the Waikiki Beach area and know you are going to have to spend a good amount of money no matter where you go to eat you might as well go somewhere that is a great value for the money.
This place is not cheap, but you get WAY MORE for your money here than you do anywhere else in the area.
We tried the pizza and it’s amazing, sea bass special that day was the best, bolgogi pork tacos were phenomenal, you really can’t go wrong.
We loved it and will be back next time we are in the area!

Great spot to catch up with friends alongside the beautiful beachfront view. Their cocktails are truly phenomenal, especially their signature mai tai. The wait for a beachside table was not as long as the estimate they gave us, which was good. They have delicious shareable items such as the garlic truffle fries, ahi tacos, & chicken wings. Be aware though: their chicken wings are quite spicy. I liked it, but it caught my friend off guard. Service was great, our server checked up on us often. I would recommend making a reservation.

The food was average, nothing really stood out.
The kitchen was very quick bringing the food out, service otherwise was average.
The view from our table was wonderful.
The portions were on the small size, the only thing I’d order again would be the parm fries.
The live music was very nice.

Popular happy hour spot and restaurant located off the beach within the Outrigger hotel. You can make reservations on Yelp or just walk in. We came on a Monday for lunch without reservations for a party of 6, there was a little wait to get seated by the water but there was plenty of seating elsewhere and while we waited we got drinks at the bar and enjoyed the live music. They’re known for their Mai tais which were really good with a nice pineapple foam top and strong drinks. Other people got an espresso martini and the morning after, and white walker. We went family style in for our meal, they say the fish is fresh and caught daily. We got kale and mixed green salads, shared chicken wings, the fresh catch tacos, and fish and chips, along with fries. Nice vibe and chill spot for a meal. Parking may be difficult in this area if you’re visiting, you might have to park at a hotel parking garage and you walk within the Outrigger hotel past the lobby and pool to get to the beach front restaurant. Our servers were very nice and friendly!

A Lovely Spot: Monkey Pod

I’m so glad I stumbled upon Monkey Pod! This cute restaurant has an AMAZING view, and the service is top-notch. The staff are friendly, attentive, and the manager is a rockstar!

Try their Passionfruit Foam – it’s a taste sensation! And, OMG, their Mahi-Mahi Burger is delish! Fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection… except for the soggy fries (just sayin’).

We also tried the Jerk Chicken, which, unfortunately, needed a bit more cooking time. But the manager was super cool about it and gifted us a comp card to come back and try more dishes.

We took them up on that offer and went back for potstickers, apps, and drinks – everything was yummy! Service was consistently great, and the atmosphere is just lovely.
If I were you, I’d go for drinks, apps, and the Mahi-Mahi sandwich or burger – that’s where they shine! Worth a visit!

P.S. As for me, I prefer my Mai tai’s on the sweet, so Mai Tai cocktails at the Dukes or Mai Tai bars are still my fave!
